Impulse buying has been a problem for me for some time. Most of the times it's small stuff under a grand.... a couple years ago I went out to buy an exercise bike (another impuls decision) out Wacol way... had to pass all the car yards on ipswich road and on the way back we stopped to have a look at the Subaru's.

I came home with an exercise bike and contract signed for a m99 WRX.... I was chuffed that I managed to get 11K trade in on a pov Hyandai Excel - I know I should never have bought one but I had no money at the time and was running very lean on the budget.

For the record, the exercise bike was never used and just sat in the garage collecting dust.

I think I'm pretty good with car stuff.

Funny story though... when I was about 18 (young and nieve) I lived at home with the folks. Was driving along in the work ute and van pulled up next to me. The guy leans out the window and goes "Hey mate, wanna buy a set of home speakers. We've got them in the van. You can have a look". I go "sure I'll have a look". The guys speeled some shit about selling excess stock for their boss who worked for xxxx hi-fi company. Ended up spending $500 or something for a set of floor standing speakers that probably wouldn't have fitted in my bedroom anyway. Straight after I bought them I thought "What the hell did I buy them for". I ended up dropping them at my mate's place around the corner and set them up. He paid me $400 for them, so only lost $100 phew... Turns out the serial number plate was blank on the speakers. I googled the brand and found out that people all around the country had been hit by the white van selling this brand... My mate still has them by the way.

A couple of months ago (10 years on from this story), a van pulls up next to me in the Bunnings carpark "Hey mate, wanna buy a projector". I replied NO!

Don't think I am an impulse buyer but my daughter sure is. When I try to talk sense to her she says' and I quote, "Don't ask impulsive people to be patient.........it only confuses them".

Dunno if this is original but it cracked me up!

Cheers GW

I went to JB to buy a laptop. After deciding on which one i was gona get i decided to have a look at the car audio (just to look, not to buy)..they were having like 30% off all car audio..

Anyway long story short, ended up walking away with a brand new laptop as well as a brand new 09 pioneer fold out dvd player for the car...was a good buy, no chance it was gona be that price again. And i have never looked back. :)

Nice clean M35. Hows that KGC10 hakosuka build going?

It's not yet.....

On that, i guess you could say that the KGC10 and S21D4 Prince Skyline were impulse buys.....

Firstly, the S21D4 : stumbled upon it for sale in NZ and being a Prince fanatic and knowing that this model was part of the 1st generation skylines just had to have it... Rang the owner in NZ, bought it and it arrived in Melbourne about 3 months later. This model was never brought to OZ and therefore i am confident it is officially the oldest Skyline in Australia..

the KGC10 : well, why wouldn't I or anyone???

The KGC10 will be replicated into a GT-R (KPGC10) one day.. A friend owned it (one of 9 in Australia that i know of) and i had always said to him if he decides to sell, i want first go at it. The rest is history....

So, both were, very impulsive... Certainly weren't looking for them at the time. Although when they came up for sale, just had to have them to add them to the Classic Skyline Collection...

A photo of them side by side......
