Pretty sure that they can import to NZ, any vehicle that has type approved for any market... So grey imports from Japan are fine as they are to Japanese standards. Also European cars from Singapore are also regularly imported as they are to European standards..

However, they do have to pass the local NZ annual Warrant of fitness, that may, or may not, allow for massively modified cars to be initally registerd..

Sure one of the Kiwis will explain the specific requirements...

wow. so they can just import or have imported anything they like?

hmmmm... pm35 with a vq35dett? :)

Whilst we are on child seats, the isofix mounts fitted to many new cars in AUS are completely legal, under ADR. However it is not legal to purchase or use an isofix child car seat, as they are not fitted with a tether and therefore do not pass ADR....

Cannot wait until ALL the ADRs are aligned with the Euro regs... The paperwork is apparently going though, and should all be signed off in a couple of years...

Woohoo!!! 200th post!! :D
