Yep saw it on the Gold Coast News last night.

My condolences also to his family and friends, a tragedy.

Hope it wasn't anyone from here.

Car was completely wrapped around a tree, he sure as hell was no where near the speed limit when he hit it because there was not a lot of the car left at all. The front and rear bumpers were almost touching, thats how wrapped around the tree it was.

It was on a suburban street with a 50K limit after he had left the highway, not on the highway as reported in the news link.

Apparantly he died on the way to hospital.

(That is what was reported on the news)

I think the police will go ballistic on Skyline owners for the next month or so, it was a pretty horrific crash, the police officer on the scene was nearly in tears when interviewed last night :D

Please drive safely people, common sense, we don't need anymore fatalities on the road this year.

my mate worked 4 shops up from this guy...

after seeing comments made on boostcruising.. makes you think how *descriptive word here* that website really is... worried about 'their image' due to this unfortunate accident and his blatant disrespect for road rules and the law, but its ok for them to post and brag about 'fulli sikk dohrifto' on Mt Nebo for all to read.

So the comments by some little teenage dipshits tells you that the website is ****ed up?

Gee.. shows how much notice you pay to the members of the site. One person opinion on something does not mean everyone on the site thinks the same thing. People are allowed to have opinions and not everyone is going to agree with them. I believe that somethings in that thread weren't called for, but theres no need to brand us all in the same catagory

He shouldn't have been speeding in a 50km/h zone, especially in the wet.

skyrine dave does have a good point about the site. They do comment on how he was doing the wrong thing then do the same themselves. I know cuz im there on a few of them! Besides that, lets get back to the topic on hand. Very sorry to hear about it. Makes you wonder if your gonna loose one of your mates next in something like this as i know the majority of my mates are in the car scene. We went on a run one night and my mate's brakes faded coming down the hill and he luckily pulled up just before the wall.

yeah i agree ng. I don't think i'd like to die in my car for the fact of my relatives and people that i know all going, "i knew he was gonna kill himself in that car" and

"I told you he was a crazy driver" or something like that.

you were on the cruise the other night hey? I had the multicoloured car!!! hehe

i know you are a member and have been for a long time.

i registered there a loong time ago too. I know there are the old skool members who stay together.. I am just sayin... it is a public website, and the opinions and views expressed by the minorty shine off onto the majority... ie 1 hoon makes the rest of the 'car enthusiasts' look bad.

as for members these days... doesnt take much. I do know back in the day members were the close friends etc.

bah never mind i am venting my disgust at what was said on that forum/topic

I'm a strong believer that everyone was put on earth for a reason, to touch someones heart? to succeed? to make someone happy? and when your time is up, your time is up.

Nicely put Erin :D <- (Whimsical smile)

R.I.P whoever you were.

Heard this by word of mouth today and just found this thread.. RIP

No sign of disrespect - But can anyone post a picture that was posted in the newspaper? Was it on the news at all?

I think posting something like this is a good idea anyway, gives everyone something to think about considering we are all driving the same 'weapon' that he died in

by weapon i mean good weapon, only when used properly though

ill be checking 10 late news anyway

i cannot post it, but i looked at it tonight. its very bad, the driver stood no chance, he must have been flat on the boards.

interesting to note the rego number, xxx-Ixx, so i would assume that the car was only recently aquired

i will not post the full rego, it saddens me that it happened. A reminder that wet weather and speed do not go together and driving in situations such as that should not be taken lightly.

may he rest in peace whoever he was.

    • Don't do it if your gearbox box has already having syncro issues. The short hifter will put a greater load on them. If you must I remember Nismo did a shorter shifter, with the top part being physically shorter and the part that went into the gearbox was the same as stock. In saying that I've had a C's short shifter (I think) in mine for many years, which was given to me as the previous owner was not sympathetic to the gearbox. Thus forwarned I was careful and had to modify my normal changing style. You have to be super accurate with your clutch and shifts
    • Well, after a week of daily driving and having to crawl out between the wheel and the side intrusion bars. I got myself a quick release setup. I went with an NRG short hub and Quick Release with some cute heart cutouts on the pull tabs. Nice and matchy matchy with the rest of the interior accents I have going on.  The only downside is the total stack height even with the short adapter is longer than the old HKB boss kit. Luckily I had some adjustment left on the column so move the wheel away.
    • stock shifter with new bushes, springs and cup will improve it. Gktech do all the bits. The opinion as the years have gone on is the redline is not great in old gearboxes.
    • Hi all   what short shifter do you use on your skykine r34?   my synchronous does have a problem and i was getting huge delay and grinding sound between 2nd and 3rd, did put shockproof red heavy stuff and it is great now/ no issues   would in your view short shifter screw this up?   people seems to suggest/ use cube short shifter and there is standard and premium. Seen review of premium as much better and less play. Thoughts?
    • Yeah, there's a bit of a density and friability difference between pebbles and any of those other things. Silicone will definitely float in oil and so will be mobile enough to move around. Although, again, if it is upstream of the filter it really shouldn't go any further. I would only ever worry about silicone when it is in places downstream of the filter. Upstream of the pickup is a whole 'nother matter. We've all seen what that does. I have seen the most abominable crap settled out in industrial gearboxes, trunnion lube systems and the like, without any sign that any of it has touched anything in the machine. Just chilling in the bottom, waiting for the inevitable operator error that causes the whole machine to need to be dismantled for repairs.
