How Do I Clean The Headlights? Foggy On The Inside

Hi Guys,

I have been having trouble with my headlights they are just so dirty!

But the grime and whatnot is on the inside rather than the outside. Looks foggy.

My mate was telling me you can polish it off. Failed.

Anyone else have the same problem? its not a big issue just looks dirty when everything else is sparkly fresh V.

The best i have come across is "Glasslite" cleaned all the yellow and fog off. I got it at Auto one.

how does that clean the inside though? Thats what's got me really confused. I understand i can pull the headlight out and do a manual clean on the inside but that seems a bit rough.

its probably not the inside dude.

Give the glasslite a try first, coz it is a pain in the ass to get inside the headlights.. Im talking removing the whole front bumper etc and then having to bake the headlights open in an oven..

i use plasti-x or something to that effect...from meguairs.

Note of caution - do as the instructions says and apply to small areas at a time rubbing it well it. Do not apply to the whole light at once and expect to get it all off. I did and ended up having to claybar the shit off before attempting small sections at a time

oh and what he said ^^

it only seems like its fogging on the inside because you cant get the oxidisation off even when lightly scraping it with your nail....but try the plastic polish first.

yeah I wasn't keen on opening everything up just to clean my headlights.

yeh i used Plast-X works great.. if you really think its on the inside.. then Houston we have a problem.

while we are on the subject of brake dust.. is there such a product that you can apply to clean rims that will reduce the amount of brake dust that collects on them?

it wont reduce brake dust...u need low dust ceramic brake pads for that, but it will make cleaning easier.

Plastic-X is very good. Start with that, but if it doesn't get better use the Glasslite

Those products will make ur headlights look clean, but at night if it looks bit green and dirty , then its da inside. You will have to take them to someone who repairs headlights. Dono which state u are in for me to tell u.
