looking at a car at imperial imports QLD, i have not herd of these guys, have you? any comments?

the original dash has 20ks on the clock, yes i know that is very, very low, definately worth a look i say.

anyway my question is the old (light) rust profing on the bottom of the car, its light not thick enough so you cant see under it, should i be alarmed? is it there to cover rust or damage? in what area of the car does it get its first cancer? where should i look?

i will thourougly inspect the car any way, what are your thoughts/advice?

Looks the same as my old boat, but better, check around the struts, also the inner guards and under the body kit, where you find rocks and sand in Australia you find salt in Japan, put it on a hoist and have a good look around the diff and inside the boot under the spare and in the inner guards, a torch and a small mirror for looking in the dark and confined areas will be needed.

these days i buy cars based on how they run rather than km on the dash. the closer to 170psi compression and lower % leakdown is relative to the amount id pay. obviously you look for rust and excessive welding around the struts and in the boot as well as amount of play the suspension has. also the super helpful kick of the tires helps to check if the steering is loose.

don't pay a premium price for it if it isn't in premium condition, and if you have any doubts of it only having 20k on it then assume your gut instinct is right.

Its possible it is genuwine, but in reality it is very unlikely. Basically it should be in almost new condition inside and out, mechanical wise should be quitest r33 around.

Ignore the milage while you test drive it, km are irrelevant if everything is going well. And lets face it, it's and r33 gtr, not a Mclaren F1 or an F40 that are renowned for having low km's because they are more of a collectors car than an actual car you drive around in often.

Hope it is as good as the km's suggest it should be

i checked this car out today, so

the car drove like new, but not 20k new, maybe 70k or so (my guess)

it did have original exhaust, and untouched exhaust bolts! first time i see that.

the gut feeling was at at 50% not enough..

when runing my finger over the blue complience plate (a few times just to be sure) on two of he's gtr, they were not completely smooth, the were engraved!!

Is that the blue plate attached to the fire wall? The compliance plate is usually a pink sticker on the strut tower.

If theres any chance that its a rebirth I'd walk away... but its unlikely a RAW would be selling rebirthed cars. Do some research on the company before buying from them though.

Is it the car listed on the Imperial Imports website with 22,567k's? Theres something on the coil pack cover that says 2.6 24 and then Nismo. It appears to have a few Nismo options, such as the steering wheel. It does look like a very clean car.

Edit: Steering wheel is Momo, not Nismo.
