I saw media watch last night and they highlighted how much of the canberra times article was related to the victims criminal history over the past 16 years, it was more than half the article, can't imagine being his family and reading that the day after he died, pathetic move from the canberra times IMO

A couple of years ago I can remember being stopped at a red light in Belco and being able to hear sirens approaching fast, so even though the lights went green everybody waited as the cops chased a car through the intersection that clearly had no intention of stopping.

Now, had the cops continued the recent chase through Narrabunda with lights and sirens on, maybe the other driver would have heard them and not pulled out onto Canberra Ave.

So they may have actually died *because* the cops called off the chase........

The other thing this event highlights to me, is just how many car thieves there actually are in the ACT.

So many small things could change the outcome of the chase, if the police continued the chase, the people could have seen the sirens and be more aware, or the theif could have driven even faster and caused a worse accident before that intersection, or could have got to that intersection while the light was still green.

The driver of the stolen car, Justin Williams apparently knew the family.

It just happens that the father of the family who was killed is also a car thief.

Just a quick point... Never believe commercial media:

"Williams was driving a stolen Mazda 626 and being chased by NSW Police northbound along Canberra Avenue on Saturday night when he smashed into the Mazda 3 occupied by the troubled couple and their infant child".

This quote is taken directly from the Canberra Times online article and is completely wrong... My girlfriend and I drove past this smash on Sunday morning and I can tell you that there wasnt a Mazda 626 or a Mazda 3 involved.

The cars were actually an early 90's model Mitsubishi Lancer and a late 90's model Mazda 323 Astina.

If they cant get these details correct then how can you trust that any of the other details are correct?

(I hate sensationalised, crap, commercial media)

mazda 3 = new version mazda 323 astina for people who dont care about cars.

we'll forgive the thought of the perps car being a old lancer since it may have been dark and plenty of things going on around you when you drove past. Bbut you might want to look at all the pics throughout the papers and net. one of the pics even has a close up of the 626 on the back of the car.

IMHO all but the baby got "Karma".

There is still a lot more to this than has already been reported in the media. Canberra/Queanbeyan (Wanniassa) is a small place. Some facts are still taking time to come out and alot more will never be publicly known about the families and friends of the deceased.

Again IMHO there should have been more immediate family/fiends involved in the fatal accident. To loose innocent people is a real tradegy, to say game over to local scum is a blessing. The deaths of 3 in particular has saved more lives than the total of 4 killed in the crash.

On a final note I can not beleive 500 or so turned up for the funeral/s! But then again I find it hard to beleive the number of drug f**ked fiends and theives who support their illegal habits on the streets in Canberra........

If they cant get these details correct then how can you trust that any of the other details are correct?

Accuracy?....Media?....good luck finding that.

Unfortunately while we know that they are happy to spread untruths, they just keep on keeping on. Nothing short of mischievous and devisive. Never let a few facts get in the way etc...

This is such an intense subject, I knows its kinda heartless to find any benefit from someones death, but seeing the criminal history and the caliber of others associated with them (and don't let anyone tell you not to judge a book by its cover coz we do it every day,if I see a blank magazine cover I sure as hell ain't buyin it) but anyway, these people seem to be the sort that could have previously commited crimes or been involved in crime, and yeah I may sound like an arsehole but its how things are. you do the crime you do the time.

Ok, my bad... If it was a 626 then it must have been an old one.

My point about commercial media still stands though :D
