Hello everyone. I have a GTR32 that won't start at all ;) , it cranks and has fuel (can smell gas fumes and plugs are wet), strong spark. When I try to start it up

i can hear it that it want to turn over ,but all i get is smoke coming out of the valve cover were the hose is connected . I currently installed a PFC D-jetro into the car and boost option is off, my injector setting are input correctly.

This is this my set up:

T70 (garrett) bottom mount center

700cc sard injectors and fuel rail

split fire coils

3 row trust FMIC

bosch fuel pump

Need help pls. ;)

Thanks

Thanks for the bump , but my car does not have immobiliser.

I have read the forum and i see some that are similair problem with mine and the feed back is to

perform a compression test and a leak down.

So i did the compression test with cas disconnected and WOT. The results are not good. :(

1.70 psi

2.65 psi

3.70 psi

4.70 psi

5.60 psi

6.60 psi

Now with some oil in the cylinder

1.130 psi

2.120 psi

3.125 psi

4.125 psi

5.110 psi

6.120 psi

With these results, can it cause not to turn over? :)

Thanks

Need Help

That result is typical of shot rings. But you might expect that the engine still stands a chance of starting.

You have probably flooded the engine in your attempts to get it to start - try starting with WOT.

No luck of start with WOT,

Hey guys, I have been soaking the cylinders with oil for a week now.Today I gave it a turn and she fired up ,but wouldn't idle at all.I tried to start her up again but no luck at all firing up again  . So, I applied little gear oil and turned it couple of times and let it soak for a while.

After waiting for while, I gave it another try and she fired up but i was on the pedal for about 5 mins and then died out.So, i did a compression test and all result are the same 70psi highest.

Any advise

Thanks

like same with mine...you better pull out your engine and check all your pistons and rings.., mine only hard start in the morning, and idle is difficult for 2 mins...ang then idle fine...but still i lost power on my engine... i got 2 cylinder problems cylinder 1 and 5... could be a blown head gasket, broken valves, or worst the pistons..

How much charge does the battery have when you are doing th ecomp test? Have you just installed the ecu? Those Comp test readings dont look right, its very unlikely all the rings have gone all the same amount. Does it have a tune

The battery has full charge and while i was cranking it the charger is plugged. Yes I have just installed the ecu. The car has been sitting for a while cuz no funds to purchase the ecu.

Thanks.

Just went to auto parts store to purchase a CLD tester, but out of luck. So, thinking of pulling out the

head check the valves and other parts.

just a thought, timing belt one tooth out would skew your results from the compression test..

also if you are chucking in 700cc injectors on a standard tune it will be hella rich, maybe to the point of not running [edit: i see you have adjusted the pfc to suit.. double check the values?]

i kinda agree that all rings going at once will be unlikely, but peculiar results after adding oil to the bores to assist in sealing the rings... they might be screwed after all??

induction (injectors tested OK)

compression (questionable)

ignition (spark tested OK)

exhaust

How much oil are you putting in, sounds more like a stuffed comp tester

The amount of oil that I put into each cylinder about 4 table spoon (is the medicine cup that i used),and I let

it soaked for the whole one week.

4 tablespoons is enough to artificially raise the compression reading by itself, not by helping the rings seal. I would try another comp tester.

Yes, your correct it did raise when i put oil on the cylinders. The readings for the first time with out oil where very low and as i add some oil into the cylinders the compression when up (both test are with WOT). Now, that she was able to turn over the other day, I went ahead performed another compression test (same day) and result where back to the same reading which is lower than 80psi.

I will give it a try on another comp tester and if the results are the same it will the time to rebuild.

Thanks.

pull the fuel pump fuse, replace the plugs and crank the engine till it fires then replace the fuel pump fuse

the fuel has washed the cylinder walls, maybe your car has forged low compression pistons, get the car started and run it for about an hour then if your worried do another comp test and do it properly, wide open throttle all plugs removed and crank till the gague doesent increece

How long was the car sitting there while you were working on it? You probably have stale fuel. It can't hurt to just flush your line and put in a fresh 20L. Smell the fuel that is being pumped in, it will smell bad if it is stale. If your still not sure, rub some on your skin, if it is stale it will burn, if its good fuel you should be fine. IF your still not sure just get a fresh few litres.

The car sitting for a while about a year and half. I installed a new fuel pump, rail, injectors, filter.pressure reg.,3/8 fuel lines, and fresh fuel (91 oct the highest that i can get where i live).

My car has stock internals, just bolt on.
