R34 Engine Light & Sounds

Hey all need some help.

Might be a bit of a newbie question but still - my engine light has come on after a Saturday of driving though the day (slight boosting but nothing over the top, best mate was driving not myself) the 34 has been sitting for a few month without any real driving apart from round the block every now and then. And the car hasn’t been driven since to prevent any more damage.

The problem is now under harsh acceleration at high revs there is a bit of a constant futuristic hissing/whistling sounds, can’t really explain it lol its sounds like when metal on fabric if that makes any sense :-| i thought it could be something like a belt slipping but I’m really not sure. Also at idle there is a bit of a noise too from down the left side of the engine around the alternator. :S

A mate of mine mentioned a scan tool to read the vehicles diagnostics but i don’t know where i could get one from or what to do with one if I had it haha

Any input or ideas are more than welcome and if someone was to come round have a look & listen to the car that would be great too!
