Hey guys and girls,

Just wanting opinions on some of the brands out there of suspension setups that you have used/experienced.

Everyone is talking about the lower priced teins and the entry level mono tube teins, but i want to know what other brands

options, etc are out there and what your experience has been and what you were trying to/have set the car up for.

I'm looking at setting up my car and wondering what people find works in certain areas, and also what doesn't in others.

I have heard of alot of brands, such as buddy club, tein, hks, bilstein, and numerous others, but never am able to find out

what these brands compare like and what they have to offer over there rivals.

I would also like to know what the ride, handling, spring rates, etc are that you are using with these brands. Pretty much any info you can tell me and others looking to upgrade there suspension and handling on thier skylines.

My car will be used as a bit of a all rounder. Doing anything from drag, circuit, mountain runs and a little basic cruising. I know I will never have the best of all these worlds at the same time, but want to make it the best I possibly can. The car will have a fair bit of chassis bracing from http://www.ultraracingaustralia.com/ and a few other pieces which should make the car a lot more predictable when driving hard.

I've never been one to always follow the crowd (not saying that its a bad thing to do sometimes), but rather try some other things and see what differences can be made. I understand that there is no reason for reinventing the wheel, but just want to know what all the options are.

Thanks Matt

P.s. Why has there never been a sticky thread made like this for everyone trying to set up there specific skyline, ect? Also sorry for the long post :(

There was a group buy on here a couple of years ago for a whiteline/bilstien setup. i had this installed in my car but I can't say what it is like on a track as I haven't tried it out. But as for twisty stuff on roads its great and not uncomfortable at all.

If you do a search I am sure the tech info is still available.

The G/B was organised by a user by the name of sydneykid.

Have a look here

There are all sorts of others coilovers available that look mighty pretty, and will make your car real low and stiff, so it will look fully sik, but will handle/drive like a peice of poo. I have a 32 Vspec II with standard suspension and recently drove an R33 with really nice looking fancy adjustable beilsteins, it is low and looks great, but it is a cop. With these cars you do not want them super low because you are running out of travel etc to work within. You actually WANT the suspension to move a bit. SK (SydneyKid) I do not know from a bar of soap, bu if he has been involved in half the motorsport suspension setup he claims to have I will be trusting his recommendation when it comes time for mine to handle better too!
