Hi all,

First of all great forum really informative! Anyway im finally off my P plates (Melbourne) and im selling my mitsubishi FTO and heading over to buy a skyline. I went and checked out a couple today at some place JAPCARs in fawkner JSA etc..

Anyway iv researched thouroughly about both these cars but i cant decide which one! so i thought i would grab your input guys....

1999-2000 R34 25GT-T Manual Full Nismo BodyKit w/sunroof for roughly 20k

1997 R33 GTR Vspec Series II-III Stock as a rock Manual for 22k

Both of these cars are from car dealerships. After researching and searching on your forums isee that both engines are really strong (bulletproof) and only problem is coilpacks. How about servicing on these cars and anything else i should know? What would you guys buy?

Budget is 23k :P

Thankyou

Salemf!

Sorry about the tripple post dono why it hapened

series 3 gtr vspec for that price is a little worrying to be honest, what condition is it in? how many k's?

i wont answer specifically, but i'll give you some general advice.

what kind of car do you want to drive and what kind of money, day to day, do you want to spend on maintaining it?

If you want the bestest fasted coolest car ever... no expense spared... then a gtr is always a great choice.

If you dont like 4wd, dont want to spend alot of money on maintenance or want something newer, then maybe the gtt is a better option.

swings and roundabouts

There is no right answer, and neither car is "better", it all comes down to what matters to you.

in my experience, i wanted a skyline RIGHT NOW when i bought mine... and rushed it and now i have a 93 33 gts25t.... i wish i'd held out i looked for a gtr, maybe saved more, maybe bought a REALLY nice gtst... but i didnt... i rushed and now i keep wondering what would have happened if i'd been more patient.

So think about what you want in the long run, and go after that... buy the right car first time, not just model, but quality and price too.

If you cant do a gtr now but want one lots... why not hold off until you can get the one you want,

good advice mate appreciate it....well 22k does seem cheap after looking at redbook and carsales it may be aseries 2 then because i said to him terms of sale would be me tkaign it to my mechanic to get a compression test and if that is ok then i will purchase it once my fto sells.

I wont be modifying the gtr id leave it pretty much stock except for exhaust and intake.

I will be using it as a daily as well even to get to work.

if its to be a daily driven car, and your first turbo car, i'd def go the gtt. you will be able to get an excellent condition gtt for the price you're looking at, but only an average GTR.

also, you will undoubtedly spend money on both throughout your ownership, but i'd say the GTR is more likely to sting you pretty hard.

another thing to think of is insurance, get quotes and add that in your budget.

good luck :P

If the R33 GT-R is in really good condition hmmm...

If the R33 GT-R is in superb condition hmmm...

If the VS-3 R33 GT-R is in impeccable condition > GET IT!

There was a time in the 80s where a current SL500 was F/S in the SMH for only $2,000

She was selling it for her husband.

Her lawyer husband was in a Fiji resort with his secretary.

He said to his wife that he wasn't coming back for 2 months and that she should try and sell the Merc for "what she could get", split the difference and send him 50%.

Moral: Beware the 'Woman Scorned'

Footnote: And he thought she was sending him the deposit! :P
