Looking at a Precision turbo for my rb25det Neo.

From what I've gathered the 6266 0.84 should match nicely. Motor is internally stock but will be running E85.

I'm thinking about spending the extra cash on a twin scroll setup, going to be in a light S15 so I'd want power delivery as smooth as possible.

Any graphs or comments for a similar setup

Hey dave do you have any specs on whats done to the head? Im guessing its got some $$$'s spent on it? As good as the 6466 is dave I would still keep the good old HKS T51R. :) TILL THIS DAY, They still sound the best out of every turbo out there when spooling and cracking that big gate open. Not to mention how farking PORRRRN they look in a skyline engine bay. Haha. How much more do you reckon the t51r has left in it on your setup dave?

At this stage piggaz has talked me into going a pt6262 on my built rb25 with a r33 gtr 2.6ltr crank in it. After seeing all these 6466 30/25 or 30/26 setups making such grouse power makes me just want to build a 30 bottem end and go 6466.

:) :) :)

Why would you wanna change it when it sounds like this :D

Took a snap of the graph from the 6466 on the RB26 that JEM tuned the other month.

Soooo much midrange for the power output.

+1 on getting specs of this motor. 950 ftlbs and 30psi at 4700rpm from a 64mm turbo on 2.6L? how is that even possible?

I'm pretty sure it's just a basic build.

Forged pistons and rods, drop in cams etc.

TS 6466.

We went out on a cruise sat night with a few other big HP GTRs and this thing annihilated everything, every bit as responsive as the graph suggests.

Loving the sound of this

Richard had to drop the motor as it was sitting too high and the plazmaman was hitting the bonnet, I was there on Thursday dropping off some E85 and Richard said that it was due back from the exhuaust shop later that day then they had to drop the engine and finish off some of the connectors and a few hoses here and there and then it will be ready to start and hopfully tune. He said should be ready by mid this week

God. I can hear the money burning by the hour.

I hope it turns out well for you mate

Not the same on the street?

How much more than the 6262?

With the hubber they are usually about 300-500rpm better on the street. With the roller it's usually closer but even if it was the same as the dyno it would still be awesome

We'll, forgive me for being a sceptic, but I need to see a timeslip or data log to believe. This thing still makes 200 ftlbs more than I thought possible and spools earlier than a 35r. Crazy!

When I had a GT35R it was on song (26psi) by 4400rpm. This thing is laggier than that, id say T04Z territory.

These aren't a big turbo physically which is surprising to see what they produce. Looks like a GT35R from the front but the rear housing looks quite large.

The blade design on the turbine side is also something I haven't seen before, it is like the blades are convex. (if that makes sense)?

Just to add, I have seen 2x SR20VEs with these turbos making more power and on earlier than my T51R KAI RB30/25.

One ran 154mph and the other 148mph, both 5 speed H pattern cars.

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
