Don't worry mate, you know i baby it. I get my ar$e lapped by everything out there!

The other day i lined up my 6 year old on our street and he beat me on his pushy :-)

I really want to do the Peats Ridge day they're doing so hopefully will do this as well so they can witness my awesomeness!!

I've been to maybe two or three wakefield speed off the streets days. Each time there wouldn't have been more than 20 cars. Only bad thing is if there are bikes or race cars, they get their own session which means less track time for everyone else. Also these could've been quiet days. Don't get me wrong, these track days look great and I would much prefer to go a track day and meet some fellow enthusiasts etc. but it is still double the price. Do they provide dorian timers in the price?

yeah timing is included in the price.

the speed off the streets days and the organised days are completely different. You'll be grouped with people of similiar speed and skills (or in my case, lack of), you have timing and when you go out for your 10-15 laps per session.... everyone makes the most of the time rather than f**king around all day.

stu - he'll need an AASA licence which is $50 per year. I tried to google WAkie licence and nothing came up on the wakie website so maybe it was abolished or something. Anyhowww

i didnt realise $200 was on the expensive side for a timed track day. its limited to 55 cars i think so should be plenty of track time you would think.

how many cars to the speed off the street meetings? i might look into a few of them.

i haven't seen a timed track day for aaaaaaages... I haven't even found the autosports track day calender... they're the other guys that do regular timed days.

ill be bringing a mate down to finish tuning the car so will be taking it easy for a few sessions. i might let the officialdom know so they might put me in a slower group for those sessions.

my brother is going to drive his Focus. better than sharing a car. I put a new set of azenis on the front and some used yokis on the rear so it should steer ok.

hey stew - was your car at the power cruise? the 32 with a V8 and sidepipes in the skirts?

And Ben, I saw your cup car on you-tube for one of these wakefiled events. Was your quickest time a 1.16?

I am planning on attending this one as soon as Bel can confirm my gtr is good to go. If not, I will still be there but in a yellow dc2 itr.

yeh that was her, wanted to have a look around EC and it seemed like a good oportunity. beautiful track btw.

cant wait to have a crack around there.

in saying that i cant wait for wakie, probably only see the top of 4th down the straight but thats ok. EC was so fast. was already in 5th by the start of the grandstand.

Well i'm off to the EC sprint on the 18th too, so no excuses about being rusty! Will have to think of another excuse before then...

I'm taking a mate out as a passenger at this Wakefield day too, so better be on my best beahviour. :)

      Hmm. Yes. I should have been clearer. 1000s for Haltech, for extra headroom. 725s for Nistune. You might even be OK with 640s, but if the possible power ends up much more than 300 rwkW you will run out of headroom on the 640s. That would probably be OK and a signal to not push it to that sort of power with Nistune anyway. At that level you probably do want to be thinking about engine protection functions. Oh, and all of that presumes 98 only, not E85. Well....the 1000s would allow you to run E85 at ~300rwkW territory, again, maybe sort of running out of headroom. Hard to tell with E85 - depends on the tuner as to how rich they like to set it up.

      Yes.  The only scenario I can imagine when the answer isn't yes, is if you drive like there is highway patrol behind you at all times.  If your car currently runs, enjoy it and keep saving. Better costs more, keep saving until you can budget the better ECU. It's worth it.  Nope. Plenty of us making >300kw on unopened motors. Mine is unopened and makes about 350kw if I turn everything up, its fine (lots of caveats here, how the car will be used/abused, how long you expect the engine to last between rebuilds, how has the engine been maintained prior to coming into your ownership, etc etc).

Are the traction arms still recommended? The bilsteins from SydneyKid, they've got 400lb/in fronts & 275/in in the rear, revalved to his specs. Intercooler, I'm just having a look at some on Rakuten.jp and some other japanese sites. Might get something from back there, GReddy, Blitz or HPI, all crossflow. Looking at roughly $450-$500 AUD + shipping... Theres not many choices except that chinese branded Justjap unless you go for blitz return flow. Yeah, only downside with Haltech is the price ahhaha, so expensive, and with all the sensors if I go that route... $$$$$ yeesh. Are headstuds/gaskets needed for <300akw?
