What exactly are the issues? If it's wear and tear after a few years - surely, you cannot blame a panel shop for this?

Yeah its possible. I wouldnt say wear and tear but more like paint fading and sucking through over time.

That happens if the prep isnt done properly, ie the correct use of primers. Once paint is applied it will look nice and shiny and perfect, but over time the clear will suck through and dull off and give that nice orange peel look...which is what Kris has.

My experience was quite good. Paint matched perfectly and looked great, however the bodykit fitment was poor and the indicators did not fit properly. Yes, I bought a cheap imitation kit but it could have been easily modified to fill in some small gaps etc.

Mine is the best car I've seen roll out of there. Others haven't been so lucky.

I really wish people would understand that it's not the panel shop's fault that cheap bodykits do not fit correctly. Everyone knows that the quality of copy bodykits are nowhere near as high as genuine ones.

There aren't many high end panel shops who will even touch fibreglass, let alone 'modify' it to suit your vehicle.

We've never had a problem fitting genuine kits, although only a handful of customers have actually forked out the money for genuine gear.

UNR33L: I am sorry the wing we fit for you was crooked, if you had brought it back to us we would have re-fit it for you as that is our fault.

Kris: I have not refused to fix up the issues on your car, I always said I was happy to fix them up. In fact the past two dates we have agreed for you to bring the car in you have not brought the car in. I cannot do anything about your sideskirt fitment, it is a fibreglass copy after all. Maybe you have overlooked this, but I know you are fairly well known on here so people would take your word for it anyway.

Juliette: I'm very disappointed in your comment, I did not tell you 'f**k off' as you so politely put it. I said maybe your money is better spent at another shop because I could not keep up with what you were asking for. If anything, I was looking out for your best interests by refusing to take in anymore of your jobs. I thought it was all rather civil until I stumbled upon this post.

Gareth: As I said per the sms, I will check it out and let you know.

Either way, I understand that all workshops will have good and bad stories, but most of the ones on here could have been sorted out between myself and the customer.

As the saying goes, 'Cheap, good and quick, you can only choose 2 of the 3, never all 3'.

I can vouch for Vu being more than willing to help out even when there's nothing in it for him. If I held onto my car, it would've been getting resprayed there.

I've heard a few stories of people not being 100% satisfied with the work, but I've also heard they're more often than not willing to sort out any issues later on.

At the end of the day they offer more affordable resprays than 90% of other shops. If you want perfection, pay for it.

exactly my problem. i have issues, but im too lazy/have no time/poor to go back and get it fixed. i will live with it. also, we arent making judgements on vu's integrity here. dont get presonal guys.

just got my r34 kit done up at dt. at first they look like scary people who'd knife you if you look at them wrong, but you'll realise they're all pretty helpful.

not only did they offer good prices and flexibility, they're also willing to go out and grab extra material for me even after i told them i'd do it myself as i didnt want to trouble them. cleaned the whole exterior of my car up it was filthy. fit on my plates for me, sourced new indicators and fixed them on. paintwork is nothing short of fabulous, and i intend to keep it that way. you can't blame a panel shop for fading paint after a couple of years when you wash your car once a month and clay/wax/seal once every 2 years.

i believe they'll treat ex-customers the same way, if you need help, they'd definitely be more than willing to go the extra mile as they've done with me.

i'll be going back there to fit on my mesh (when am i due Vu?!) this week - i highly recommend this workshop for anyone on a budget.

Forgot to mention that I was due to pick up the car but Vu said they needed another day as they noticed the paint didnt quite match so they had to respray it. He said he really didnt want the car leaving until they were extremely happy it.

They are very easy to work with and for a good budget I believe you would be hard pressed to find a better shop!!

I will continue to keep you posted of how the paint hoplds up over the next few months if I still have the GTR.

Can vouch for that though. Never have anything personally against vu. Awesome guy. Told him I need a clutch and hooked me up within a day. Just things like the door getting paint of it and thinks like that.

Reason I haven't book the car in yet vu is because I'm busy. Still need to get my buff... Almost a year later ( that's slackness on my behalf)

No, not in so many words. You didn't swear. But the general gist was there. I was very surprised that you didn't even hesitate before messaging Tomi and telling him to take his business elsewhere when he wasn't even involved. I was also very surprised and as you can imagine quite angry after you of all people know how I've been taken for a ride by other people in the industry...

I was well aware you'd see this thread too. I've been very civil about this.

Kris: I have not refused to fix up the issues on your car, I always said I was happy to fix them up...

You said that to me "when you got a new spray booth." I was unhappy the day I drove my car away, that was the start of 2007.

Edit: on second thoughts, no details. You and I both know them.

Could you send my pearl to me this week as you promised? As I will need it. I'll also need the paint code for the black on my bonnet as I will have to fix that at my own cost seeing as a large amount of the paint on the underside of the bonnet is missing, the way it was given back to me.

Vu, if you read the second post I said I'm waiting on you.

My first post was when I was tired & grumpy, unfortunately you cannot edit posts after ~30mins, so I can't change that one. Sorry

I'll bring the car round when I can, I assume you / the team will not be working this weekend due to Easter?

ive delt with vu many times an he has bent over backwards for me... fathers car painted, my car painted no dramas an paint looks fresh

you cant expect someone to turn shit to gold.. like a copy bodykit, yea some are a good fit, but they still need to be cut to make them look good An some on the other hand are only good for the bin... whos to blame for this?

2k for a good paint job or 4k+ for a '' autosalon '' spray job an both will preety much look the same soooooo do the maths

vu is a good man with best interests for his customers, yea you might have to wait abit for the job gets done but it gets done....so please get your storys right before you go try an wreck someones business.... GOT ISSUES??? im sure he is willing to help

farrrrk cant believe this thread has stayed open this long.......close thread this is stupid

dont get me wrong im not taking jabs at anyone... but if you read the title of the thread ''im a happy customer'' but it seems to have taken a turn... over he said she said he did blah blah blah

an vu has done ALOT for anyone that has been there...

if DT was a sponsor of SAU this thread would have been closed along time ago

Ok fellas, I think it's time to take this off site - if you know what I mean.

If you have a problem with Vu or DT Panels - for God's sake, give them a call and talk it over. Don't go posting hate comments on here, they're running a business, any type of negative news even if it's like 2 negative versus 100 positive still can be damaging.

I have to say, Vu and DT Panels are a good bunch. Nice people to work with. If you ask him to do something, he'll tell you if he can or if he can't. If he can - Vu will do it right the first time and charge you accordingly.

In my books, DT Panels is the way to go. I just got my 'GTS4R' fixed up there. I'm going to bring my GTR to him soon too. Yeah, there's a bit of a wait, but shit, when you got like 8 cars on the go, you can't just click your fingers and expect things to get done automatically. However, the quality of workmanship is good.

This thread should be closed. If you have any issues, take it outside or in this case, "offline."
