Wastegate Piping

Recommended Posts

My hks kit has some stainless pipe there, but vac lines have been used many times without drama. I would probably use silicon vac hose, and put a 90 deg brass fitting on the bottom connection to keep the hose as far away from the heat as possible.

Use a hi silicone content, thick wall vac/boost hose. Rubber and braided (has rubber inside) will perish/colaps quite quickly when it gets to hot. The wastegate is going to get very hot.

Turbosmart make a good hose.

Anything that works, I've got vac hose, nothing special. Cheap as chips stuff, and then if it stuffs up you throw away and replace, thats what I've got and had for the last 20,000km. With the fittings you can get 90 degree ones and route the pipe away from any heat.

Only drama is if the one that melts causes it to overboost

hangon if the pipe is running from the boost source to the wastegate

how can it cause overboost if anything wouldnt it create a boost leak?

because boost would be lost out of the compressor housing .....

please explain....
