It sure does, if there were visible modifications in your engine bay, (Top mount turbo, boost controller etc) you will be called in, if it was just a Pod filter and you have a cooler, you will most likely get a letter from the EPA warning you to just put it back to standard.

If you do get done for heaps of modifications and you bring it in all converted back to standard, they will tell you this is not the same car, they circle everything they expect to see from the photo the police took of your engine bay.

Good luck anyway.

fark ur having a bad run!

yeh id expect an epa.. speshally cos u run pod + cooler yeh?

get ur exhaust tucked up thats what i did cost me $40 best thing i did though..

tell me about it man. nah ive got stock airbox on, the only visual mod is the cooler. i had a breather filter on as a temporary fix as i sliced the breather hose yesterday... he said that was illegal too. where did you get your exhaust raised? i took mine to some shop they said it cant go any higher i think they were just being lazy

my cars only got basic bolt on mods nothing major. hope its only a warning...

epa apparently keep records of these pics, so you dont just take things off and put em back in.. so i've heard any way..

They'll sometimes scare ya with those EPA things, got told i'd have an epa in the mail.. 2-3 months later still nothing..

i dont think u will get a warning you'll either get told to go epa for test or nothing.. but i doubt it will be nothing. Almost any place can tuck ur exhaust i went to flexifit in hoppers crossing but yeh try another shop it can always go higher

yeh itll be the breather filter thats got ya stuffed..

epa wont do u for the hole in the chassis the cops will do u for that.

lol

i was on my way back home from church which is like a 5min drive, doing 60 down a 70 road. this marked car going the opposite way spots me, puts his lights on, runs a red light does a u-turn comes speeding towards me and tells me to pull over.... yeah just doing his job ha lol

oh well

i got followed and pulled over 'randomly' on my way home last night.. ~1am in Eltham.

licence check, breath test, and he said he wanted to look at my spare tyre (just an excuse to sniff around in my boot i suppose) .. i told him i didn't have one in atm, and he warned me that that's a defect, so i told him i'd put it back in and showed him my pretty boot carpet anyway lol. i was nice and polite, told him i was just going home to bed and he sent me on my way. no mention of looking under the bonnet

Spot on Dezz. Thanks for that.

There is no requirement for a spare wheel to be carried on a vehicle and the Standards for Registration exclude wheels not normally used in service from any requirements. However, where a spare wheel is carried it must be securely retained in or on the vehicle.

    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
    • New rear lights, filler panel sprayed, cleaned and back together    before, during, after shots 😍
    • 100% is gyprock, I agree. Slip of the keyboard. Haha! I left my indicator bulbs out to save a bit of weight.
