TiTAN
have you thought about just having the vct active at idle and using a shift light to turn it off via relay @ the RPM set to turn the light on?? Crans
MSD switch installed found out vct should draw around 1 apm so no relay needed.works perfect easy to setup but expensive $280. badhairdave
If it's only pulling an amp i'll rip the extra relay out of my setup once i get around to setting the switch point and tidying everything up. I only just chucked it in half an hour ago and then it started raining again.... Rolls
Old thread but I thought I'd put some extra advice in here for anyone searching, I used an eboost street to control my VCT, it has an RPM in wire and you can set it up to turn an aux relay on between 1500 and 5000rpm very easily. Works a treat and the car makes an extra 15kw in the midrange with it enabled, you also need far less throttle driving around town to make the same power. flame_this
Why does it need to shut off at 5000 rpm? Pretty sure pfc's dont shut it off.. TiTAN
they do shut it off. it hurts top end power if its not shut off. 89CAL
Why does it need to shut off at 5000 rpm? Pretty sure pfc's dont shut it off.. Power FC's are the opposite. The setting is the RPM you want it to turn off. The VCT is only needed in lower RPM. This is how it works in simpe terms. Its not on at idle, I think it switches on at either a certain RPM (Which is low anyway, just above idle) or once certain conditions are met (like throttle position/load etc) But the adjustable setting with the Power FC is for when it will turn off EDIT: Why was it necessary to dig up a thread from 2010 to point out a (wrong) fact? GTSBoy
I'm surprised no-one ever worked out that you can series up 2 of the Jaycar units to make a window switch.
