My R34 Gtr

Recommended Posts

I also saw Garry & Jack last weekend. The performance figures on your car are very impressive!

Pity you didn't own your car for the 10th Anniv of the R34 GT-R Event that our team put on last year.

You'd have to contact and buy "MOTIVE DVD #3" (back issue) to see it. We caught the autumn colours of Mt Wilson + Japanese Sword Display + lady in Kimono dress. All caught on Performance Imports Magazine #113 "Best Of The Best" (That would have to be a back issue too).

what a coincidence, i was reading that in the loo at work today haha

Hi all,

I know I haven't posted here for a while, but that because so far I haven't done anything new to the car yet besides filling up fuel every 4 days :)

I've been looking at buying some coilover suspension for the car but I wasn't too sure which ones to get. Since they are consumable items, I'm not looking forward to paying like 3k for a set. I would definitely prefer them to be fully adjustable as well. Main usage for them are for everyday street/road use so the softer the better, but also having the option for track usage :P

Also would anyone know how other brands such as K-Sports, BC Racing or Racing Logic compare to the Jap branded ones?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Buy TEIN's.

http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/tein.html

TEIN are Japanese but have been distributed by Fulcrum Suspensions AUS and from my understanding, they made TEIN suspension to suite AUS roads...

As we have shit roads in AUS.

I know a few ppl with TEIN's and work really well.

I have CUSCOS and are very hard and a pain in the ass ;)

Apex'i

HKS

Nismo

Bilstein

All make suspension and you can't go wrong with them.

Looking at upgrade your brakes?

K-Sports are great, have not heard of the other 2 brands tho.

Just to name a few,

Endless (JPN)

Project Mu(JPN)

AP-Racing (USA)

Are also great brakes.

Have a go of my car Garland and see what you think of the Buddy Club Racing Specs. Even though they are the supposedly racing/track version, I reckon they are very compliant for street use. Initially I wasnt keen on getting these thinking they would be too hard for normal driving but when I had a go of one of my mates cars with them on, I was hooked :)

Thanks everyone for all your input. Looks like I'll be doing some more research on Tein's and Buddy Club Racing Spec's.

Thanks Eugene! I wouldn't mind that at all if you're not too busy. Would you know how they are compared to the Tein's by any chance?

I actually spoke to a friend today who now runs the old Buddy Club shop, and he told me that a few of he's clients has had some problems with the Racing Spec regarding the lifespan of them. That's why I'm now a bit iffy about them, but if you're not having any issues with them, then yeah I can definitely trust your word.

He had also recommended me with the Cusco Zero-2E. What are your thoughts on those?

Thanks for your help everyone!

That's the first time I've heard of any potential problems with the Buddys to be honest. But mine have been running with no issues at all and i've had them for quite some time. Also a few of the guys at my club have the exact coilovers and none of them seems to be having problems.

Teins are great as well too, I don't have any complaints about them. But there's a huge range of models through the Tein lineup so it depends on what they are.

Cusco are damn good. I love them.

Ah ok, Thanks for that Eugene & Chris. Just means that there's more to choose from then :D

kimbod: The Nismo LED Taillights are off my old GT-T. I think I had them for over 1.5 years now. I imported them from Japan when the exchange rate was very substantial back then ;)

Love your car even more

One day....

Hehe... the exuberance of youth...

I was over 50 before I got my 1st GT-R.

When I was 20, the hot cars were XU-1, XY GT-HO, Mustangs, Camaros - even cough... cough... the damn AMC Javelin.

Plenty of Hot Fours that can run rings around them now... (not considering $$$-value of course).

When I was 20, the girl-pick-up-troll-cars were MG A/B, Lotus Europa, Datsun Fairlady...

My 1st car a Datsun 1600 - Nathan Yellow (not as lary as Shell's)

I hope my dream of owning a black 34 m-spec nur would stay with me... But then again by the time I can afford them, they might be too old and might have moved on from it. Maybe spending more money on the homeloan is more sensible.

Everytime I see a thread like this just makes me jealous!

LOL I'm not a big fan of being hated. That's what half of my friends say to me now

I guess it's always better to have goals and dreams, that's what kept me going and motivated me. Took me a long while, but I finally saved up enough from very hard honest work :D But I would think that if I hadn't bought a GTR now, then I definitely would've later down the track. I guess it's better to get it over and done with now and lay down some serious assets in the future.

LOL Sorry Terry! I wouldn't have much of a clue of half those cars mentioned !! :) (XU-1, XY GT-HO, AMC Javelin, MG A/B)

I have cusco zero2 on my 33 gtr, came with the car, i love them!!!

Mind you i have only had the car for like 2months hahaha but i am constantly playing with the settings and always feel the difference.

I do wish i had the zero2E with the controller just for ease of adjustments instead of taking the rear seat out all the time :merli:

and congrats on the car looks great!!! one day ill have a 34 too!!!!
