Hey guys,

thinking of importing a v35 and have seen many common issues regarding them with spark plugs excessive oil dilemma , window, gearbox and annoying noises. I have been told the models after 2005 are upgraded models and the little issues of the older models were fixed. Is there any truth to this claim??

If so I'll look at a 2005 or 06 model.

Cheers

I own a late 2004 V35 and so far, every thing has been working perfectly. No dramas at all, touch wood.

I used to own a Subaru Forester 2005 and the driver's window failed on me too in 3 years. According the forums, it was a common occurrence in Subaru as well. As such, I feel it's inherent in most motor cars, mate, luck of the draw.

they fixed a lot of electrical issues on the 2nd gen ones 3rd gen (2006) they changed again. thing being the radio was an issue in the 01-03. 04 they changed the CD stacker in them and from there they updated the locks and window gear as well.

your idea of buying a later car is valid. buy a 2006 if you can afford one. forget about the frilly radio/navi. buy the car for the car.

To be honest the nav/radio never came into my mind. The car is what I want. So I'm guessing 2006 it is then.

Besides the electrical what's with this spark plug oil thing that I have been reading in another thread titled "changed my spark plugs"

something about leaking oil around the spark plugs is common in v35's anyone care to share more info.
