Have become aware of a R30 hatch available for parts. Another car managed to park on top of it!!!! So it's been written off.

If you need parts, contact Janet Coleman on 03 9822 3361

Just a note if anyone's thinking of putting this car back on the road in Victoria.

The car is a "repairable write off". To have it re-registered requires a roadworthy cert and a Vehicle Identity Validation (VIV) cert from VicRoads. The VIV costs an amazing $484!

This applies to all those hail-damaged cars as well. To get them registered and back on the road costs around $1200 (roadworthy cert + VIV + rego).

Correction:

The VIV cert would not be needed for this car, the requirement only applies to cars up to 15 years old. (The mistake was made by an inexperienced reporter me!)

Update:

No bids in the $600 starting price auction either.

I doubt a R30 with rego and perfectly running engin would even sell for $600 these days...

I got thrashed by an old lady in a box-like cressida today... fail

The box like Cressida was probably an MX73 2.8L DOHC 12V which has far more poke than your L24E.

I reckon my 3.0L Turbo Diesel Jackaroo would thrash your MR30.

Yeah, i thought the cressida had more torque, as as the road got steeper she went quicker!

of course your jackaroo would eat a bog stock L24e with 52kW at the rears... for now!
