GTR Gear problems

Hi,

I am having a problem with my 95 gtr, I cannot seem to select a gear to start off with. It doesnt crunch, but it doesnt like to go into a gear, and when it does go into a gear and the car is not moving it makes a slight noise.

When your driving the car, the gears change normally. It just seems to be the initial take off.

My mechanic seems to think it could be the clutch plate, but he wasn't 100% sure this was the problem.

Has anyone had a simular problem, or have any suggestions on what it is?

Thanks.

Yeah i experience the same problem...its a bitch! its when you are standing still and push the clutch right to the floor and you try to put it into first and its a bit stiff to go into gear but it does and it makes a sort of grinding noise and you can feel the vibration in the gearstick : however it doesnt happen all the time, only occasionally. But yer once the car is moving its fine. Someone told me its a worn synchro on first gear and not to really change it unless it gets really bad. I still have to get mine looked at - who knows how much its going to cost!!

try puting it in reverse when the car is stopped if it crunches and goes in its the clutch , it doesnt disengage so the input shaft is still turning ever so little and that makes it hard to select a gear while the car is stationary .reverse doesnt have a syncro so it will crunch but will go in easier .

the most likely reason that ur clutch doesnt disengage would be hydrolic problem either slave cil or master cil .
