Coil Overs

Righto SAU,

I currently drove from NQLD down to Ipswich/Brissy. front left suspension is now lower than the right after smashing a pot hole.

after looking at it, i noticed i have MONZA (yes, wtf?) shocks with stock-looking springs.

now, im after a full coil overs for my r33 S2 as my current set up is way toooo rough.

i have been looking at D2, but heard its quite rough.

been looking at buddy club, but never heard of them (mainly because im a ex commodore nut)

also heard the talk about pillow ball mounts? im not a guru in suspension, what is it?

but atm, i have been looking into tein super streets. i know the brand name and im sure you can never go wrong with teins.

can someone point me in the right direction as i just want a nice firm ride, without the harshness of riding as if i riding on a mountain bike with no tyres.

any installers in the ipswich/brissy area? is ozzy tyres ok? or should i go to a more suspension only outlet?

I have XA extreme coilovers from pedders on my 33. I am really happy with them.

Fulcrum Suspensions are the Aus distributor for Teins. Brisbane southside at Moorooka. They also revalve them to suit our conditions better.

What's your budget??? Anything less than $2.5k and you're FAR better off going to a quality shock (like Bilstein or Koni) and spring setup than getting cheap coilovers.... To get quality you either need something like Tein as Harry said, of for a bit extra something like a 40mm DMS is light years ahead....

i would go Tein or HSD

dont go D2 they are cheap china

p.s. coilovers are easy to install give it a go yourself.. if you get stuck come here and ask for help

i been quoted at 26XX.00 for tein superstreets supplied and fitted.

budget not an issue, saying that, if way over the top, i might as well trade my r33 and get a r34.

but rather keep the r33 as it is a cheaperish option.

If budget isn't an issue, then go DMS. For the extra few dollars they will be a BIG step up from Tein...

Their entry level model 40mm is $2989 per car set including springs, freight and GST. 40mm is a combined bump and rebound adjustable model.

The next step up (which is more dedicated track shocks) is the 50mm, and is $3401 per car set including spring freight and GST. 50mm is a separate bump and rebound adjustable shock.

The only thing though with the DMS is that with the Skyline you need to use aftermarket strut tops (can't use standard ones) so you need to allow $250 odd per pair for those.

that is a lot of money for tien SS'... =\

if you are going to spend that much, I would want a hell of a lot better than the rubbish Tien super street.

Get the DMS stuff or the bilstiens!!
