Hi Guys

I have been a silent visitor/viewer of this forum for past 2 months.

I have a v35 sedan + nismo body kit  which I bought 2 months ago

I have noticed a strange noise much like some bushes are worn out every time I run my car in the morning.

The noise disappears when it rains. The noise is typically there when it goes over humps.

I got the car inspected when I bought it and it comes with a 12 month warranty.

I am just wondering if I take it to the Dealer I bought it from or a service centre??

Has anyone else here had a similar experience or Is this a common problem with the V35?

I live in Melbourne reading the forum City Nissan is where I was thinking of taking it?

Thanks in Advance

cheers

Agree sounds like bushes lol.

Control arm bushes tend to go first in many cars. Have a look at those maybe ? Check the shock shaft for oil/grime and look for visible leaks from the shocks themselves. What kms on the car ?

  • 1 month later...

Hi All

I just had the car serviced and checked up

What is really shocking is:

Theere is no way it has genuine K's on it

I thought the km's would be off by about 50k max but the mechanic claims its done more than 150000 :3some:

40000 odometer vs 150000 is a lot.

I got it inspected by stateroads Victoria. They are the worst possible organisation.

They are now asking me for a written complaint and proof from the mechanic as to why he thinks the k's are not genuine.

This is a warning for anyone buying V35's here get them inspected properly from mechanics listed on this forum otherwise you will have a terrible experience as i have had.

The dealer in question is a private guy who sells his cars on carsales from his home in Cairnlea/DEER PARK Victoria beware of him if anyone needs details on this guy I will send them to you, don't know if i am allowed to post it here.

He stil has car adverts posted on carsales so Beware new buyers.

The other sad news is they are the Control arm bushes as pointed out by Touge Kyousou and it will cost me a lot to get them repaired :)

What are my options now? I do want to set this dealer right?

Whom can I complain to, can the police do something about this at all?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Jet

WOW!

Well if it's got a warranty take it back with the proof in your hands that it has done those Ks and ask for your money back or a new price on the car if you want to keep it and get them to fix these problems.

Good luck

Hope some one here has some better ideas.

Bad luck mate...depending on which state you're in, state government should have a mediation arm to deal wtih cases like this; consumer affairs in Victoria, NSW fair trading, etc. They're usually very quick to respond and a carry a bit of clout for the consumer. I had to use the Telecommunications Ombudsman once to deal with a bill that Telstra kept sending me for a cancelled service and it was resolved in a matter of days.

It's much better to approach the business (assuming he's a business and has an ABN) first and tell them what you want first, i.e. discount or whatever, then if you can't get the outcome you want go to one of these mediation bodies. Unfortunately the decisions these bodies do pass down aren't legally binding but they're a good start if you end up having to go to court.

I'm not defending the person who sold you the car, but there are good chances that the odometer was wound back in japan, and that he has nothing to do with it. Caveat emptor, as they say.

The organisation you should be complaining to is whoever did your pre-purchase inspection (state roads victoria?). But i'm guessing that they would have made you sign some T&Cs when the inspection was completed? something along the lines of limiting their liability to whatever you paid for the service, wouldnt surprise me.

Yes thats exactly what the situation is.

I am suspecting the Dealer will say meter wound up in Japan however his brother personally inspects every car as i was told ..huh

Now that things have settled down with me. I am not terribly angry at the dealer(buyer beware) but at the inspection guys wanted to warn others which I think I have.

Only 1 specific question I asked the inspector "is there anything to say the k's are not genuine"?

Answer:

"Not that i can see"

just writing that again boils me up.

I will report the matter to the mediation authorities as pointed by Kam-80. Lets see how that goes.

The car otherwise is in good condition as reported by the service guys and I did not pay a huge premium for low km's but little more for the body kit and sunroof.

I love every bit of it, so wont be selling it or talk about returning it.

Lets see how to get the bushes sorted out now already found few pointers for parts etc here.

Just a bit more wiser than last time :3some:

cheers

considering modding is a favourite thing in Japan, nothing stopping the previous owner in Japan to fit a Nismo speedo at 15,000km, drove the car on Nismo speedo for 50,000km, swap it back to the old speedo that he/she kept and the car still seems like it's doing 15,000km and sell the Nismo speedo. got some cash back for their nismo speedo and his/her car valued higher in auctions cos of the lower km.
