Still, why did they have to find the 3 biggest leb muzzas out there to represent the "japanese performance car community"

And seriously, did you see how they were doing the slalom course? They just basically kept accelerating through it, as if any normal driver would keep doing that...?

I think some of you may have the wrong impression of what the story was addressing.

"But yeah... get other people into these cars and see how they far. A darn sight worse is my prediction.

And i've never EVER had to use a slalom course on the street, anyone else here ever used a slalom course on the street?"  It wasn't about whether people have ever had to do a slalom course on the road.  It was more about how people managed and perceived themselves with a "high powered vehicle" and how the wrong mentality can bring a lot of grief to those who overestimate their abilities.

I agree... what the story was trying to say about the attitudes.

And just nab these guys in a bad light.

But as for everything else i said, i think it is fair.

but as you said dave

It was more about how people managed and perceived themselves with a "high powered vehicle" and how the wrong mentality can bring a lot of grief to those who overestimate their abilities.

Put those cars and drivers into a normal road simulated test and see how they go.

Maybe thier ****y attitude might have proved them right and that on the road they are indeed alright drivers.

But to do that fairly you have to give out a fair chance.

Heaven knows im not a bad driver on roads and i have a good stick of power.

But i know in myself that a slalom and other tests, things i would never expiriance on the road, i would instantly fail.

Put me in a road simulated test, in my car... and let me drive how i would not how the instructor thinks i should...

And im very certain that i would do much better for a number of reasons.

*My car has better handling/braking/control that a Ford/Holden.

*I have a good reaction speed, certainly not as fast as driving instructor, but not too bad in the percentage of road users.

i like this thread. good read

Personally I would also find it difficult performing a driving test with that instructor yelling in my ear constantly.

I was thinking the same thing. It it was me driving I would've floored it and then jumped on the brakes hoping that he smacks his head on the dash. Ian Luff is a w@nker.

On the same note did anyone go see the attempted reverse psychology ad about speeding before Return of the King? Worst. Ad. Ever.

I saw it... it was made by students, i think. they all made ads against speeding and that one won the comp... i don't see what's so bad about it.

the ad's trying to use reverse psychology to make you not speed etc...but it doesn't work. After 20 seconds I was hoping it would end soon. For those who are too dumb for reverse psychology to work it doesn't work.
