Stock Turbo

Hi everyone...not sure if this has been posted, but i am interested in finding out what fittings i need to install braided lines on my a stock r33 rb25det turbo. Replacing the turbo with another stock one and dont want to run the old copper pipes. Im getting the lines from a mate who had them on his silvia for an aftermarket turb's and just need to know what fitting size/type (part no.s etc will suffice) ill need to put on the lines for my engine-turbo setup. Any photo's of a setup with the lines on from anyone would also be much apreciated (as this will make my removal/install much easier).

i too am doing this same upgrade and have asked around such as pitek and erls, but yes need precise thread sizes ect.. any help would be much appreciated!

I'd love to help man, but I don't have much experience with the stock RB turbos...

They are weird sizes tho, not like Garrett where everything is -3 or 14 x M1.5

Try taking the existing lines into a fittings place (some sorta specialised hardware store) and find flare fittings that match the ends of the stock lines.

correct... oil feed is M12x1.5 IIRC

and its generally a fine thread feeding from the block, rb25 out of the block is 12x1.25 for oil feed and 14x1.5 for water feed.. well it is on the one i'm doin at the moment!

into the turbo might be 1.5 i'm not sure.. never bothered to check that one lol

Why bother with the cost or complexity??? Especially with a stock turbo.

BTW, braided lines are more fragile, will need repair/replacment much sooner, create more oppertunities to leak, less effective and much more prone to failure than the stock steel lines...

Save your $400 and buy somthing usefull.

The factory lines will be far more reliable than braided. I had steel lines made for my highmount rather than go braided

Cheers everyone for the help...the braided lines were more of a back up, incase i kinked the factroy steel lines when removing or installing the turbo. And lazy_bastard how much were the steel lines you had made up?
