Yes, my bro in law had a low 11's R33 GTR. It's the fastest car I've ever been in, but it wouldn't be fair to compare it to a RX7, since I've only been in a stock RX7.

Stock vs stock, the RX7 was a lot sharper, felt a lot more like a sports car, and the cabin felt like a cockpit. And, it sounded a lot nicer than the GTR and is easily the best looking of all of the imports.

It didn't have the outright pace of a GTR, but it was at least as fun, and I thought it was actually a little but more fun. (I may have been exaggerating in my previous post :-D ).

My point was just that GTR's aren't the be-all and end all, and this thread is a little weird in that many of the posts make GTR's to be the greatest car on the planet, when there are many other awesome cars.

Mate the whole point of this thread is for people who love GTRs to talk about why they love them. It's subjective, not objective, or to put it another way, it's a matter of taste. It's like with drinks - you might think VB is the greatest drink ever made, but I think it's poison, and nothing you can ever say will change my mind.

We're not trying to make it sound like all other cars are inferior, even if they are (jk). You're welcome to your opinion but if you want to debate the merits of GTRs versus other cars you're in the wrong thread. We've already decided GTRs are awesome, you're wasting your time discussing other cars.

im tyring to get someone in the ACT to give me a ride in their r34 gtr. I want to know what they're like before i get rid of a supra with a massive gt42r on its side haha as it stands the 42 is the best thing ive been in. the whistle turns heads everywhere..obviously not all for the right reason :D

Well I definatly don't subscribe to "gtrs are the be all and end all" crowd, but someone would be crazy to get out of a fast and well set up one and not be impressed.

Take my supra for example, drives great, comfortable, looks good etc. But at the end of the day every car has different qualities that match owners expectations. For example a GT3 in my eyes is the PERFECT car, but I can understand there are others out there that are damn good at the same time.

IMO trying out other peoples "perfect" cars is really fun to see differences and compare positives and negatives etc :D

That may be easier in Sydney

Let's see a thread in the projects area about your supra, there's a heap of supra fans on here :D

I've owned and driven fast RWD's and even R33 and R32 GTR's. And then I got a ride in ylwgtr's R34 GTR about 8 years ago... and my mind was blown. It just felt like a rollercoaster on rails, without the fear of imminent death.

I was exactly the same, when I drove mine for the first time I reacted the same way. When I'm buying a car I try to be nonchalant and not let on how much I like it, but I couldn't keep the smile off my face.

bad im usaully the same as well. try not to show too much intrest but with the gtr just couldnt help my self. what was even better was the night i picked it up i busted a wrx and a 33gtst! hahah

Hey, I'm not saying GTR's aren't awesome, I'm just saying that there are other cars that are just as awesome. That hi-po GTR is still the most violent acceleration I've felt, and the R34 GTR is still the best car that I've had the pleasure of driving.

I find that even just taking mine down to the shop, (it is a weekender) I get home and feel like I need to tell someone about it, because it was an event, might not even get on boost, but after 10 years of wanting one, there is something special about stepping into it and going for a drive, even seeing it sitting in my shed is a thrill! If only it wasn't for the exhaust turbine I fished out of my Cat converter 1 week ago I would go for a spin now...
