i have had k&n with no problems all i did was go down to my local speed shop and look for the biggest 1 that would fit with out going over board then i got the guy to find that filter with the correct diameter pipe. swapped the filter on the spot it fitted and i was on my way.

ppl have problems with k&n when the re oil them after cleaning they put to much oil and then u get oil on the AFM but if this happens u just spray it with AFM cleaner (u should do this at filter change any way)

may i recommend a metal pod filter adapter because they dont brake i had one brake on me 4 no reason so i fixed it with super glue and drove down to auto1 got a new one and now no problems

and dont 4get to make a filter bracket to secure everything down because if u dont do this u will not pass pits

Sounds good guys. I'll have a look at the diameter of existing one and go from there. Prob need a new AFM anyway. Had issues in underground carparks (as well as other times) where my revs would fluctuate badly - from 200 to 1500, then car would stall when i gave it a little gas. Had it data-streamed but nothing came up.......weird. Hasn't happened in a while now though.

Anyway, i'll take into account the advice given

cheers

Got the proof from an independent source to back up your claim?

(website???)

I'd be interested in that too the last time I saw a pod survey concluding that the best filtration was with Apexi it later turned out the the survey was done by guess who--- ah hem, wouldn't have been Apexi by any chance-- yup.

Ah Ha-- :ermm: definately gospel , this from a publication that (in it's genre) has the worst art direction, worst type selection, worst photography, worst editorial, the list of worst is endless when it comes to this rag , it was recently sold, - just before it went broke, -I wish the new proprietor the best of luck with this dog imo they are going to need it.

Hah!

Yep, that's it.

Surprisingly I have on Auto Salon rag, which was given to me in 2008 and it had a decent write up on track cars and the High Octane / Yokohama ADVAN R32 GTR.

The rest was just wannabe Fast and the Furious car meet up shit.

That doesnt mean they are any good.

They appear to have the best flow characteristics, but lack the filtration. They are just a piece of green foam haha.

Each to their own i guess. I read it on the internet they are crap. So it must be true!

    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
    • looking forward to your t56 swap man its a game changer if it works!
    • So, when are you trying the new GR86 or BRZ?
    • Uncle Duncan Yeap, FI Interchiller  Works well, normal IAT's cruising with the WTA only went from 50°c+ to 25-30°c with the interchiller  Before, when on it hard, the IAT would see 80-90°c, now, the highest has been was around 38°c IIRC IAT is measured under the blower hat I recommend it for the street or strip where your only on it hard for 10 or so seconds, but it wouldn't be efficient for sustained track use as it would heat soak from the AC turning off or whatever it does during WOT to protect the compressor It really needs the AC running for it to not heat soak and keep the WTA coolant chilled My WTA coolant temps when just cruising is around 2°c
    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
