hey guys,

just been wondering, i have the standard boost gauge that is measured in Mmhg. -7 to +7.

few questions.

1. i read somewhere that +7mmhg is equal to about 13Psi, is this right?

2. my skyline only has light mods, and has no boost controller. So i guess its set to 7PSI?

3. does that mean the gauge in my car wont go as far as +7? dont know since i havent tried flooring it.

i dont know much bout this stuff, just learning so please educate me.

cheers,

love u all,

Vish

That's not completely true

The stock gauge is not accurate in its "reading" but the way it measures pressure mmHg is actually one of the best ways because it is self compensating.

I.E it takes into account atmostpheric pressure so you get a true boost reading shame the actual gauge is so crap

Ps yes if you boot it and its stock it should only boost to around 340 to 400mmHg around 7psi or half a bar

however boost can increase via exhaust, down pipes (dump pipes), filters (pods), decat a whole array of things. What you do not want to do it over boost the turbo.

So if i have the following light mods, do you think my boost has increased? coz the car feels a bit quicker than my previous one.

HSK Super Dragger 2 Exhaust

HKS Pod Filter

R32 GTR Wheels

Thanx for the reply guyz

No problem. In terms of things though, you should perform the solenoid mod, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/HO...ing+stage+boost , to get the most out of your setup. After that, return to a standard airbox intake setup, and get a FMIC, and you should be at around 200RWKW.

i got mine couple of weeks agoo... floooored it all the way hoomee.. best feeeling then

hey just curious on how you get away with driving a turbo on your green P's? did you apply for a permit?

I was thinking about doing that

You have R32 GTR wheels on a R33 GTS-T?

The exhaust will improve the exhaust flow and you car will gain a decent amount of power.

HKS pod filter will give you a few kW's, nothing huge...
