hey guys and girls

i am pulling down my rb20....and have run into a problem... i can't get my timing gear off the crank...

i have read around and have heard that seize on...

but cant get mine off at all... i am replacing oil pump cause i boke it tring to leaver my gear off...i alsoe tried getting in there wif one of the gear pullers.. but the gap isnt big enoug behind the gear....

so any help would be awsome...

I had the very same prob! last week!!!! mine had sezied onto the crank!!!! I didnt know what to do!!!! as u say there is no room for between the pully and the oil pump!!!!

My bro who is an engineer for RR aero engines came home n was very supprised also!!!! tho he did come up with the idea of dremel'ing noch's into the oil pump casing so as to get a proper grip on it (I WOULDNT EVEN DREAM OF DOING THIS UNLESS U ARE 100% SURE + im rebuild the hole engine and getting some block work as id be worried about the fillings geting into places there not ment to be)

then heated up the pully slowly while keeping the crank cool with water.

then POP it came off!!!!

I was so happy it did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
