When is the next 30 million dollar Powerball, as on January 21-25, 2004, automotive history is being auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Callaway Sledgehammer

or just as appealing,

Callaway Super Speedster

or maybe something for those track days,

Callaway C7R

I so wish i had the bankroll to own something like this. :D

ITs all just american crap with a racecar drivetrain.......Japs,itallians and germans are the only ones who know how to build cars

Any car that has been completely re-engineered and still stands today as being one of the fastest cars ever produced, gets my vote. :D 409km/hr only using 1.5bar!

I like Vettes, old Mustangs, Camaros, TVRs, Lotus, Venturi's, Jags... so may different automotive flavours :aroused:

"Scottsdale, Arizona"?

...and which country is that in?!? :D

:talk2hand All those non-believers...well you are all a pack of automotive bigots ;)

Thats cool though leaves all those Lingenfleter/Callaway Twin Turbo Vettes, TVRs and Twin Turbo V8 Lotus Espirits, McLaren F1, XJ220 for me

"Automotive bigots?"... you missed my point.

If this was a yank forum, they'd be like this: "Theres a car auction in *Melbourne, Down Under*, or *Sydney, Australia*... with emphasis on what country it's in. I just don't see why every non-american in this world should be well versed in the names of their states. Try going onto GTP forums and saying you're from Queensland... :D

Back on topic, did Callaway get rid of that leaf spring live rear axel on any of those cars?

rezz,

the corvette has had IRS since the 60's. yes they did use leaf style springs but theywere mounted transversly.

if you are familiar with the old Jag rear ends (popular in the rod community) they look very similar but with the rather odd transverse leafs

Sorry about the bigot thing, was only a rev up

...yeh the land of the hotdog...i here your point but most people know where Arizona is dont they??? Hell there was a battleship named after the place that was the victim of the one of the greatest naval defeats in history :)

Callaway did offer a Bilstein (in the earlier days used Koni) coil over upgrade along with a pretty serious Brembo brake upgrade. If the aftermarket can do a coil over conversion as a common upgrade, i find the factory's "pacakging" excuse perhaps a bit hard to swallow.

Remember the movie True Lies with Arnie, i remember Bill Paxton's line "the Vette gets 'em wet" :)
