for anyone after the project Mu wheel nuts I just went through my old bedroom in my parents house the other day cleaning out all my gear and whilst taking inventory discovered I have 2 sets of these brand new in there.

these ones: photo_other_racingnut.jpg

they retail for $400 a set but from memory mine were about $300 (just under $300). will check what I paid, can do them at cost for anyone who needs a set. they are M12X1.25mm so will fit pretty much any nissan on earth including R35s etc.

they are without question the best nuts out there. like marlin said on berry's R34 they have been on and off literally hundreds of times (maybe thousands now!) and still going strong. alloy ones are toast after 4 or 5 times on and off.

I'll put them up in the for sale section soon but if anyone needs them just pm me. :D

the problem with Rays and other alloy nuts is they fatigue hot cold hot cold,

the thread becomes brittle, and yeah they either break off or come un done,

now i was atthe circuit mine were loose but .........what was worse was someone else's wheel went past me when i was doing 180+

hate to know the speed of a wheel if i am doing 180

personally looking at some titanium units,

15grams each

So anyway here's an update on the stronger set i have been using (for a few months). The cheapie sets (red ones in pic below) seemed to stretch on the first use, and thereafter they were really difficult to get off (as thread was stretched) so even after a few uses they were just rooted, the thread was chewed out. I've used the new set (bronze colour in pics below) set for longer than the red ones, yet have a look at the difference in condition below:

There was only about $20 difference is the cost for each set. The bronze ones (about $100/set) are obviously much better/stronger/harder. I'll be sticking with these, great product, decent price.

One last update, a few months later. The thread on the $100 set (bronze ones above) still lilke new. They havent stretched at all. Amazing the value you can find. Locally made too. I might have takem them on/off at least 40 times since.
