sydking
So as the title states what the best option for staying AWD, i currently own a 97 R33 sII GTS4. I love the AWD and to be honest i dont really want an RWD car. Eventually when i head down the turbo route i have a few options to keep in mind such as. sell current car and get a gtst ( but like stated i dont want a RWD car) possible to add AWD to a car?? engine conversion- most likely an Rb25det from a stagea due to the AWD compnets ect. In my eyes i have a great base car to mod and get ready for forced induction but also want to be realistic about it and worth my while. What other options do i have? CeJay
could also turbo the current block you have, suppose it depends on how much power you want? I'm running a non turbo block in my 32 gts4 which has been turboed (rb25de r32 block) But that was setup like that when i bought it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/317738-best-option-for-staying-awd/#findComment-5193796 Share on other sites
quarkgun
Get an EVO Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/317738-best-option-for-staying-awd/#findComment-5193800 Share on other sites
vidospace
I would say the stagea swap would be your best bet. Only concern would be your existing gearbox which I assume wouldnt handle high power if its off a RB20DE and good luck getting a manual stagea gearbox! sneakey pete
Get a GTR? dunno what your reason for not wanting one is, but if its cost: you'll probably spend as much messing about trying to turbo or engine swap your current car. Crans
Or you could just buy a gtr half cut Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/317738-best-option-for-staying-awd/#findComment-5193858 Share on other sites

Pretty much what i'd be saying... Or... Get an EVO ^ That. IMO the EVO would be the better overall route. You can get a EVO IX for 40k or less these days. 8's are even cheaper again. Duncan1
Get an EVO Second that! Evo's are a great car mate. Very reliable and relatively cheap to track too. Mine has done 8 track days in the last year and is still on the original rotors! wolverine
Blasphemers..... Stagea meets the criteria and no need to swap engines or farnarkle around. sydking
X2...close thread. Dont like evos, hence why im on a skyline forum, go figure. GTR is out of my price range. whats avrage price for the GTR 33 front cuts? do they come with gear boxes as mines only a 25de box. But then brake upgrade, + 5 stud conversion, probly still looking much cheaper then a gtr for now. Messiah
nope... wrong... by the time you buy your front cut, and then pay for labour/swap over. You could have just sold your car and bought a GTR. Stop trying to be cheap and bite the bullet. Or get a stag. paulr33
yeah if you sell your car for 10k (its probably worth more) and buy BCNR33 for 20k 10k changeover is good and very reasonable Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/317738-best-option-for-staying-awd/#findComment-5194483 Share on other sites
Deano 1
dude just buy a gtr, you dont get the bigger guards or any of the gtr bits, just changing the motor over, its way to much effort, just sell your car and buy a GTR with some mods done to it.
