Twin Webbers And Stage 2? Cam .... Worth?

hey guys i need your oppinions, i was offered some twin webbers and stage 2 (i think) cam for the RB30 R31 i had. aparently increases HP to 175 mark. anyway he wants $350 is this reasonable?

Do a search for webers on ebay and you will find that $350 is a bargain... BUT, if the webers need a rebuild, jetting, dyno tuning etc so they run right on your car (and they probably will) that $350 is going to rapidly turn into $1350.

Ordinarily, a RB30 will need TRIPLE Webers.

You'd be better of getting a cam and a nistune remap then carbs. Carbs are way cool but if the need a rebuild then it will be expensive, plus theres all the tuning issues that come with them (they can fall out of tune, altitude affects them also).

But if you want them then yeah $350 is damn cheap, but you'll need triple webbers not twin. When running carbs you'll run them on there own manifold or a custom manifold, so it could be hard/expensive to get a manifold, running carbs on the rb30 isnt exacly common but should wield some fantastic results if tuned right, not to mention the orgasmic sound it'll make

Have you thought about a turbo? Either way the carbs or a turbo will be an instant defect, where as a remapped ecu and just a cam should be impossible to spot

I aggree with above, tune, exhaust, cam, intake, the RB30e can holler along quite nicely. Reliable as all fark too.

If I pop my 3 spare L series engines (sure it may take a few years), Im either going RB30e or VG30det.

Plus its illegal to pull efi off and go back to carb.

Could argue that the motor was out of a patrol though? (they are carby)

Extractors, exhaust, nistune maybe a small cam.

GTS2's had 142kw at the flywheel, only had the above mods (had a piggyback style ecu, not nistune tho)
