BMW already did that with the Z1, although doors don't drop as far down. Wouldn't be nice to have that door come up on you half way through stepping into the vehicle lol. Massive kick to the nuts.

I can see a lot of errors happening with this, it reminds me of the stories I heard about when pop up head lights were introduced and there were lots of electric faults where they didn't come up, making the car illegal to drive at night.

I can see there being electric issues in these doors, making it impossible to get into.
