Wrecking an R35? :'(

yes, I am :merli:.

The same set up as Z32? So therefore the same as R33? So no special brackets would be needed?

Yes, you will nee to fabricate mounts since they are radial mount calipers unless you can get the spindles from an R35 and use some creative wielding for the mounts.

interested in calipers which state are you located

Southern.California

You've got pm Working out how to fit them onto a GTR33 track car I am building ATM

cheers

You will atleast need a minimum of an 18in rim such as a TE37 that does not have a ridge inside the rim, you will nee to work out the brake bias as well the brake master cyl you will be using on these but I might have an extra standard R35 GTR brake master later you can use off me !

Thread starter has some explaining to do on this.

2 people claiming to be selling these calipers, one says they are in Japan, another in the USA?

'Kon': Please provide an explanation asap otherwise you may find yourself being banned.

At a guess, I would say this "Kon" fella was looking to buy the calipers from racer98 and resell for profit, and just lied about have an r35 he is wrecking, obviously used the story racer98 sent him on ebay. Kinda dumb.

The other possibility is he is just a ripoff merchant and should be shot.

just did a bit of a dig with the guys email and his home town is in bulagria but might go to uni in Melb..

The actual seller said he got an offer on the calipers.

That offer might have been lower than $2300 so he could have bought them and had them sent to the Australian buyer.

I guess if you want to buy them then you have the ebay link, pay via paypal and you're set.

Can't be to careful on this stuff.

looks like someone is trying to con people..

Figured as much.

Why did this thread get reopened? I thought it got locked :(

I'm happy it was left opened since someone got outed and a scam has been avoided.

Amazing what people will put online sometimes.

i wouldnt say $2700 is a profit if the ebay price is $2300 US + freight.

my guess is he was trying to rip someone off.

I was cutting him a deal for $2,000usd shipped to AU by post mail.

the person who did that to that poor r35 should be drawn and quartered!

Nope, its best for all of us since it diminishes Nissan's parts power strangle at the parts counter :) .

(JAYBEE) thanks for the pm waiting for your reply what you want to do :( >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

if i could find 2k i'd be all over it lol. i imagine they'd stop you in a heart beat, especially in an early model skyline that weighs a lot less than an r35

its pretty simple racer wanted sell em to me for 2K i wasnt going to end up using them so i chuck them up on here even at 2K if any of u hav ever imported parts u'l now that it woudl of cost me close to 2.7 anyways as 10%+ gst +import tax as the items over $1000, import duties ect would of damn been near 2.7 so i dont see where the big maaaasive scam is it was silly using the photos from the ebay add but i didnt hav anything else

Nothing wrong with making a buck Kon.. But telling people you are someone you are not will always land you in the sh*t on the net, I doubt you will find anyone to buy anything of value off you in the future lad.

Goodluck with the sale Racer, can you supply the neccasary brackets to fit these too a r32 gtr? would work 18inch gtc's fit over these?

    • Isn't there a fitting on the back of the balance tube? That's what the OEM boost gauge uses.
    • Getting a decent signal from all 6 throats is a challenge. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the stock balance tube is not ideal for it. I have done it on an ALFA 4 cylinder (about 35 years ago, so don't ask for too many details). We drilled 4x holes in the manifold runners, put in some fittings and ran hoses to a decent sized (I think it was about 20mm diameter) pipe that ran the length of the inlet manifold. So, it was quite a decent volume. There is a "tuning" balance to be found between the volume of the common plenum on such a thing and the diameter of the pipes running from it to the runners. You need the volume to be large enough to damp out the sharp spikes in pressure signal you get as each runner gets sucked on by its cylinder, but not so large that it becomes too slow to respond to actual changes in MAP. And you need the hoses to be small enough to transmit the signal quickly, but not so small that they delay the signal. You might have to have more than one go at it, if there isn't any actual success based wisdom to be had here. Hopefully there is. Anyway, I would not do it on only a couple of cylinders. I would also not care about "permanently modifying a part". Just bloody drill holes and make stuff better. There is nothing sacred about any GTR unless it is a genuine museum piece that you shouldn't be modifying at all anyway.
    • He's still joining you, he's just delayed it and won't have the fulleh sick ITBs...
    • The strange thing is this is a URAS front bumper (or clone of it). The bumper actually does not sit flush with the GTT hood - You need the addon to make the hood 'long' enough to reach the bumper. I have no idea why they didn't incorporate this piece into the bumper itself.. instead of sticking it to the hood instead.
    • Another thought on this OLD topic: When you paint your bonnet lip, leave a small unpainted back lip/line along the back of the lip, where it rests on the bumper. That way, the line in the back is much more prominent than the gaps in the front/under the lip - and it breaks the hood-to-bumper connection at the "correct" place, when comparing to a GTR. I'm gonna do this with mine this week, so stay tuned for pics!
