gday all

well i have been noticing that some times my boost will drop about half of what it should be, showing up both on my standard and after market boost gauges.

it happened to day so i pulled over and turned the car off and started it straight back up again and it was back to normal ( full boost)

I am running standard car, Manual. You can feel the difference in power too, feels like my old r31

any ideas any one????

cheers

Mine does it too( manual series 2 ) I'd say it's just another Nissan problem disconnect the stock boost control and fit an aftermarket one and it will stop doing it

it always good to hear someone is having the same problem, then you know your not going insane :) but on the other hand not so good for the other people!!

I was thinking it was the ecu going into limp home mode or something, no warnning lights are coming up.

It has to be electrical, to turn off the car and restart in a matter of seconds and fix the problem it cant be boost leak.

cheers

mine did that to. there a quite a few things in the trouble shooting matrix that the solenoid will remain off for .

most likely is too much boost . or afm maxing out . what mods does your car have ?

no mods, but i was talking to some one today and they said airflow meter as well, i might give that a clean and see if that changes things

mine did it more when it was stock, after the exhaust and intercooler it got less frequent. i assumed that by turning the car off and back on it kind of did a check to see if there was anthing wrong then went back to normal running. the 10 minute boost mod didnt work for me so ive got a turbosmart boost t turned up to about 64 clicks. its 6 clicks short of overboost. but still does it on cold nights accasionally.

This just started happening to me, as a temporary fix would turning the boost controller down slightly help? because mine seems to boost a bit past normal say 12psi on the gauge before cutting itself back to not going past about 6, so im assuming ive got a sensor detecting too much boost and trying to cut it back but not working properly?
