mine was a Ti. Ti for TiTs. Auto, white with mud stains, blue velour interior, had to park nose pointing downhill or else the car would flood in the rain.

I thought a mate's stage 6 300zx TT was amazing (it was the hardest and most solid car I've ever driven) along came another mate's F40 (who also had a lambo, hummer and SL55 AMG).

They are stunning cars aren't they - still one of the best looking cars made, IMO. And hand-built, unlike the newer ones. My boss's car is the slate blue colour but your dad's one looks the goods in that green Love that V12!

... mine was my sensational little 1972 "510" datsun 1600 ... bought it in 1978 as 1 owner from a little old greek man in Top Ryde for $1600 ... had it 14 years ... sold it in 1992 for $4500 to a very happy young man from Port Macquarie ... it had been given "the works" in the eighties from the boys at "SSS" ie: full comp engine to 1800 - webers - clutch - gearbox - diff - suspension - wheels - tyres ... it was pretty quick for the day & handling also for the day was outstanding ...

... ive driven flasher cars since but none will ever match that "grin" that would consume me once behind the wheel of the "datto" ...

... for me i think the fact that it was my first car ("L plates" & "P plates") that adds directly to it being the best ... as then it was the only car i had ever driven ...

I cant really decide whats "the best" as every car is good in its designed environment, so here's my top 5;

Number two, Lambo Gallardo spyder; It doesnt feel as fast as you'd think after owning a GTR, but its loud, quirky and the top down makes it a pleasure to drive even with the cumbersome gear shift surround

Number three, Mercedes Benz CLKAMG Black Edition; The factory issue buyers with a letter saying its a handful and to be careful so you know its good, great gearing, awesome seats, the noise is to die for, not for the feint hearted. This was more of a thrill than a pleasure. Its true, you need to be super careful of the loud pedal

Number four, Masarati GranTurismo; A real GT car thats a 2+2 seater, you could sit in this for 1000k's and get out feeling as fresh as when you got in. Nice subtle exhaust note, doesnt stand out like a Ferrari but just as nice on the inside. If you're a millionaire and need a daily, this is it.

Number five, Lotus Exige S (supercharged); A mission to get in and out but the pain (literally, your sides hurt) is so worth it. Very responsive, awesome noise, very trackday spec inside yet still has aircon and power windows. If you're looking for corner speed, you found it

Other notables include the new R35 GTR, Rolls Royce Phantom etc but as biased as this would sound, nothing has felt as fast/scary/fun as my own R32 even though its a beyotch in traffic with the clutch, very noisy all the time, rock hard suspension, no aircon etc Id love to have a go of a late model GT2 on slicks one day, that would probably be the ultimate/best thing as far as niceness on the inside but with insane corner exit speeds and overall respect for the throttle

Tell me you didn't waste money on Super Car club Steve.

The SCC CLK black by all accounts was a lemon after 10 000km, lost a noticeable amount of power and has since been bouncing around the Auction houses not selling...

And it is good to have seen a pic of the Galardo Spider with no major scratches or dents and it still has it's lambo badge on the bonnet (which has since gone missing), that particular car also went like shit compared to how they should have, but you must have seen it in it's newer days by the looks of it in the pic. Both the black and galardo have since been raped (and not the good kind)

* Number 1 yellow pool ball = gear knob

* Twin side draught Weber (over-jetted)

* Chrome wheels + Kleber tyres

* Smiths tacho in the middle of the dash

* Vacuum gauge

* Under dash stereo

* Plush floor mats

* Blackened back panel

Remember the time, a serviceman at Capitol Motors nearly threw up on takeoff - on that straight stretch towards Lidcombe
