Hey Guys,

Been a member on here for a while, pity my first post has to go like this.

Last night (26/04/10) at around 10PM some dirtbags lifted my wheels from my R33 while it was parked on the grass outside my house in St Leonards as I was sitting in my lounge room! They managed to get away with the rears before they triggered my alarm and I came running. Because they jacked it up on the moist ground the car slid off the jack and beached itself down to the hubs. I spent the night till around 1AM raising the car and putting stockies back on. This is quite annoying. These wheels have a lot of sentimental value to me as I have put so much work into this car and these wheels represent a large amount money to me and I cant afford to have them replaced. I'm surprised there was no major damage done to the car as they just jacked it up on the floor of the car and whacked a big brick under there. If I could ask you guys to keep an eye out for these that would be greatly appreciated. Details are as follows.

Work CR-Kai

18x9.5 +38

Gunmetal

Maxxis Rubber

This is a pic of the front, but you get the idea.

they mate that sux big balls. ive driven past the car a lot and to be honest im very surprised that you keep it out the front of your house.

ive had a car stolen and i vowed never to buy another untill it could be kept safe in a yard or shed.

ill keep a look out for you mate.

thanks damo

Thanks guys, that's really great!

I do have a garage, but the drive is wayyyy to steep to get anything in there, so no choice but to keep it outside.

Now I have two Work Wheels in my lounge. Best decoration if you ask me, I'm surprised my girlfriend puts up with it!

Thats crap, sorry to hear it, will def. keep an eye out for these. 2 of these would look pretty obvious on a car if they stay around the lonnie area....

Yeah its pretty crap. They were in immaculate condition too. Think one of them may have had a *slight* ding on one of the spokes and that's about it.

They would be pretty recognisable around launnie, I think I've only spotted a couple of them getting around. Got my fingers crossed that they turn up somewhere.

    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
    • We import a lot of cars from Japan. I'd say that approximately 20% of our traffic is imported JDM cars (mainly consumer cars like the Mazda Demio, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Suzuki Swift, etc.). We also import a lot from the UK, but this has decreased after Brexit. Apart from the consumer vehicles, two of the larger, well-known dealerships frequently import iconic '80s/'90s JDM cars. I haven't heard of anyone importing from Australia, and they are not advertised (unlike Japanese ones), despite a lot of Maltese migrating to Australia in the '50s and '60s.
