  • 4 weeks later...

spotted a new radar camera on near Woodvale Senior High School this week, initially drove pass with almost no warning (20m out) on my Whistler PRO-78SE, noticed the device was pointing almost across the road not down the road.

drove back around 5 minutes later and the operator had turned it to look down the road, my laser warning went off about 200m away this time

I assume the operator initially didn't set it up right

welcome to the forum wozza69

yer the cop ah probs didnt have it set up right. i know the older ones had to be between set angels to produce accurate reading so i would guess it would be the same for the new ones

Since returning to WA I have noticed a set of these on the Mitchell FWY.

Unsure if it has been posed yet. Basicly they are an all in one fix/portable unit that can detect speed/red light camera/traffic count depending on what they set them up for. The ones i have seen are fixed but i have not noticed a camera near by. Ill get a more exact location later, and it is on both sides of the fwy. :D

Operational range 15m – 75m

Working distance 10km/h – 250km/h

Enforcement rate > 1 vehicle/s...so are we going to see enforcement trim the photo when there is more than one vehicle in pic???

so the goal is if ur going to speed u better be willing to go over 250km/h :P

Ok, so the set up i was talking about is about half way between Whitfords and Edgwater stations. I think it is only monitoring traffic flow/numbers because i can not see any camera's as we fly by on the train.
