Hey people,

Yes, i have searched this extensively on this site, and multiple others....

i need to fit a bigger alternator to the RB25. i am drawing roughly 100amps, and obviously the stock alt cant keep up...

people are mentioning different models, such as the BXN1250, the BXN12121 and the BXN1231. but then all these options are shut down... the 1250 doesnt fit. the 12121 only produces 6amp at idle and the 1231 is only 80amps.

people have also mentioned that you can rewind the alt to a higher output capacity, or even have internals changed with AU xr8 or vt v8 parts.... but i have spoken to over 10 auto elecs, and also mechanics, and no one says they can do it.

has anyone fit an alternator out of another car, such as a maxima, with approx 120amp output onto a RB25? i dont care if i need to do modification work to fit it in, but i am sure someone out there has a solution to this question.....

thanks in advance

Take out your alternator, bring it to an alternator rebuild shop and ask them to mod it to produce more current, I had this done before to my old car when I was running a fully sick uleh omg stereo, cost ~$150 and he reckon it was rated at around 120amps when it was done, obviously I couldn't test it, but I did notice less of a voltage drop.
