The garages at Wakey are pretty flat anyway, I find my car sits pretty sweet without leaving it in gear or with the handbrake up. Chocs can't hurt for an extra bit of insurance though ;)

Hey what's the go with garages on the day, do you need to book in advance or is it part of the deal?

I'm gonna have suitcases and tools and crap like that so need to put them somewhere.

Cheers

Dave / Everyone.

Garages are first come first serve! But there are heaps of them!!

As for leaving tools about, I have NEVER had any issues with leaving any of my stuff out and about during any track day, be it SAU, Circuit Club, Autosports as it is all a very friendly environment..... I would hate to think that there will be people at our day who would consider 'taking' stuff.

I have a set of old aircraft chocs, for any act people who want to borrow them. (stupid 4wd system being farked :rofl2: )

I'll borrow them CJ! You're coming right? So you can bring them with you?

Dam looks like im going to miss this, wont get the gearbox and new suspension back in time

I seem to remember you owning a skyline Jas!

Gonna be pretty epicly tired.. got 2 days off between now and the friday that im heading down.. Stupid work

Thanks everybody for your response to this day.

We are now full, so please do not send any further payments. Any payments we receive after today will be refunded.

We are happy to run a waiting list for spots, so if you still want to coming along please post up your interest for the waiting list.

It is great to be able to fill this event, and it means we can afford to keep running them - so we will organise another one (or maybe 2!) for next year.

***** UPDATE 01/07/2010 - EVENT IS NOW FULL *****

AWESOME STUFF LADIES N GENTS! WE ARE NOW FULL AND ALL DRIVER ENTRIES ARE CLOSED!!!

We will still accept passenger payments, but considering we are taking payment on the day, just as easy to pay then!!

As Duncan said, it is bloody awesome to see we were able to fill this event with ease! Shows people are keen to get out and have a go and make this a worth while venture for the exec commitee for SAU:NSW!!!!

Thanks for all your support!! Stay tuned as over the next few days i will organise groups and further finer details for the day!!!

:):down::P:rolleyes::cool:

The two Evo's juuuussstttt made it in.. haha!

How are the organisers managing groups..?

That would be me organising groups......

I am grouping entrants by experience and previous times.

I am looking at having 4 or 5 groups of 9 to maybe 12 cars in each. Each group has anywhere from 12-15 minute runs (including out lap, hot laps and in lap) so that way you are getting 1 run an hour.

You are going to end up getting about 6-8 HOT LAPS in per session, so plenty of time to 'learn the trade'

As mentioned above, i will be looking into this, sorting it all out over the next few days and will post final groupings shortly.

Hi Chris

It seems this drive day is full. I'm still keen to go. Let me know if someone drops out.

Regards

Allan/Hammer

Gents - can we please put Allan on the reserves list please? He is from mx5cartalk forums.

:)

Well guys I haven't made the grade... but I do have the car running and nearly ready for tuning... just need to replace a few sensors and then put some decent oil into it.

However, seeing as there won't be another SAU track day for a while I may start to move a few things around... make sure it is ship shape for next time...

Have fun guys and girls!

Stay sidewayz Kidz! (But not at the SAU track day :D)

Dan.

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
