You'd be suprised. Last year at OP South someone brought a $200 VP wagon (or similar) along to the track and did considerably better than alot of the Skylines on the day.

Then again, the gearbox was leaking oil and large chunks of metal at the end of the day

I picked this body up for less. My old man had it, it's been in the family for a few years. He told me "if you can fix it up and register it, it's yours". Now I'm getting another car for that, and the vl will be a track car.

A previous owner ran the gearbox without any fluids (amazingly it still works), then it was passed on to my father, who has broken basically every car on the indestructible list. How it's still alive I have no idea, in such good condition I have even less of a clue. All I know is that something will break when I race it, just don't know what yet. Luckily, 99% of this car will be getting replaced anyway.

Well I made progress and the Skylines is ready for tuning now, But I still need a gearbox, and no 3rd gear at Wakie would suck I recon.
