Clutch Problems

Hey all

I have a R33 GTS25t with a fairly heavy duty clutch in it (brand and specs unknown, was installed by previous owner, I don't have any details for it). Recently I had some trouble with it, it suddenly became very hard to get into gear, had to be forced into gear. I took it to my mechanics (who are pretty good, performance specialist mechanice) and they had the whole box etc out and deduced it was a clutch fork ball that was causing the problem, replaced this and reassembled.

For 2 days it was like butter to shift...then last night I was downchanging to 2nd as I was coming up to a light, just normally not thrashing it, and it wouldn't go into gear, it's now doing the exact same thing as before, just an absolute b**ch to get into gear....

Any ideas???

Thanks guys

Mate there are quite a few possibilities. I would just be taking it back to where it was done the other day.

Could be clutch, fork, pivot ball, slave cylinder, master cylinder or pedal box.

Pretty much every component.

I guess the most important question to ask if I was going to ask one, would be, does the pedal feel normal or does it have no pressure behind it?

Bugger I was hoping it might be nice and simple, never the way :( lol oh well. Yeah will take it back prob on monday, just seems so strange that it'd do the same so soon after gettin fixed lol.

Pedal feels completely normal ay, what does that tell you? lol

Thanks man

If the pedal feels normal, then it is likely to be the hydraulic system. Master or slave cylinder. Make sure the master cylinder has fluid in it. Make sure you take the lid off to look, don't just look from the outside

Hang on, so if the pedal feels normal it means that it's more likely to be the hydraulics?

Just asking this because I'm having a similar problem and I've done a master and clutch cylinder and nothing's changed. Odd?

You have probably not bled the system properly, adjusted the pushrod on the master cylinder properly or there is another problem present

more than likely slave cylinder when they reinstalled it it may have reseated in a better position then with driving it leaked again about 100 bucks for a new one and easy as to change
