LOL all importers are nice.

My advice is to ask around on the forums for feedback on

- speed of service

- punctuality

- availability of information, pictures, history

- walkthrough of the importing process from start to finish and duration

Importers are the internet's car salesmen, they can only give you pictures.

They can do a good job and may be helpful but you still have to treat them as people trying to make some money off you, both innocently and dodgingly. There are so many hidden variables that you are not aware of, missing or exchanged pieces, transport damage, dock hoons hooning in your car (yes it happens) etc.

My experiences were not good.

Hi all, has anyone dealth with Southern Special Vehicles? They are importer for Nissan cars but they also do a small volume of other makes. Just want to get some feedback on them as you know some importers are dodgy. I am interested in a V35 they have there.

Appreciate all comments. Cheers

Were you the one I saw on Saturday with ur dad looking at the blue R34?

I've also bought a V35 from them. Nice guys to deal with and they are definitely not dodgy lilke others.

There are other good importers too, you just have to know the right people.

People demand cheap as chip cars from importers, then whinge when it has problems.

I firmly believe in DIY! Find a car in Japan, find a customs agent, find a compliance workshop, rwc/rego. Too easy and you save on the middle-mans cut too. :)

Oh in terms of SSV, got them to comply my Legnum a few years ago, very good to deal with. :D

Hi

I have spoken to these guys a few times as I work close by. I am about to start seriously looking at buying an R34 and would like to import through these guys.

They do seem to provide a good service and have a lot of knowledge of the cars they sell. I know they are sales people but their after sales appears to be good as well. Hopefully within the next 6 months I will have my R34.

SSV complianced my car about 3 years ago and I found them good to deal with. Honest blokes.

Actually dropped by their yard late the other night to check out the Cubes, they have quite a few. Trying to convince my gf to ditch her swift for one

man go ahead n get 1 from them, they are pretty alright

now regarding them knowing about cars

they dont knw shit lol

i had an alarm they told me it was like an auto headlights turning on/off thing u knw like in luxury cars n commodores

i had after market radiator, brembo brakes and HKS actuator and non of them were listen lol i knw i shouldnt complain but stil u knw lol

after having my car for 2 days the manifold and turbo gasket blew and it took it back to em and all fixed with no hassles

they car is stil running gd

Oh and BTW ( they are slow ) so if ur patient ull get it, they took like a month to do my car

Good Luck with your car

If you do choose to, I'd recommend J-Spec.

Are they actually customs agents, or importers?

A customs agent is the person who does the paperwork for the car to clear it, arranges quarantine inspection etc. If you find the car yourself in Japan,

you wouldn't need an importer hence saving some $$$.

(NB: they might do both)

Good old bloke. Was gonna get a mad ass s15 there.

But he told me his broker is abit shifty. lol

He told me to go with the bank.

If u have the cash or already got the loan, Then i recommend u to buy it from there.

black r34 in your avatar looks tuff tavstar! love the look of a clean black r34 rolling on some dished wheels... which is why i don't mind at all if mine doesn't sell, it will make a nice daily :)

Thanks dude! :)

Thinking of selling mine aswell. :)

HI mate,

i got my car from SSv last nov....they look after me and car is going without any issues....

they also guide you to where u can go to fix/service your car......

Overall, they are not bad,.......

imported my 34 through SSV, pretty good blokes to deal with. they always tried their hardest to make the customer happy. i'd import through there in the future. you do pay a little bit more compared to other importers, but for the service and the quality of car they provide i'd happily pay the premium price.
