Hey guys/gals,

I have been trying to search around. Just cant seem to find any DIRECT info on an R33 GTR for engine oil.

I just bought the 'line a day ago... so far i changed the plugsnd cleaned the filters. just looking at doing n oil change.

now it runs atm up to 20PSI. and has around 400HP.

I was thinking something along the lines of Royal Purple or Motul. Any suggestions??

Also, i will be wanting to take my GTR to a performance shop to do the 100km Service. Im located in Sydney South (Campbelltown Region)

Any shops you guys recommend for the service??

Cheers,

Elliott

Have you seen the sticky - big read but some good info in there: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Go...ils-t22458.html

Royal purple, Motul 8100, Castrol Edge (ex Formula R) etc etc - just make sure appropriate weights for the application and they should keep the dreaded bearing knock away.

I'd concentrate on the last 10 pages of that thread. Castrol Edge isn't mentioned really, so I would not have that as an option for a GTR.

It all comes down to what weight you want to run. Then go with a full synthetic, not a faux synthetic like Castrol Edge.

Options would be Motul 300V Chrono (this is 10w40), Royal Purple, Gulf Western Sougi S 6000, as well as what FUCHS and Redline offer.

You're running some serious PSI and HP in that car, so don't skimp on the oil.

Quick question guys,

Anyone know of any reputable performance shops In south-western sydney area... that will do my "100,000km service" on my GTR?? (i might be thinking CRD but it is a bit of a travel)

Only at around 80 or so thousand k's but want to get it done soon as i just bought the car. want it all done :)

Cheers

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
    • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
    • Even though I have some pretty good (brand) ratchet ringies, I avoid using them to break open tight bolts. A broken ratchet is very annoying.
