What? did you actually get the fine or did you just get flashed? If you just got flashed then don't worry about it, they would have just been calibrating the camera. If you actually got the fine... complain!

Er, my bad.. 58 in a 50 zone.. Technically all my fault but still annoying!

That's a huge amount of money to spend to get a car over the pits without spending on handling/safety modifications.. seems like the point of actually getting a vehicle road worthy has been lost in the political legislation jungle.. flawed system indeed.

Yeah I know.. I will make SOME money back selling all the gear that was on the car, but you're right the whole system is completely stupid. I got penalised for having tyres that were too wide at the rear by 10mm.. so as a result I put stock ones back on to get over the pits, then revert to wider tyres anyway! Not to mention watching the hideous pieces of junk they let through with no questions asked!

6k.. what did you have to replace, the car? :)

Haha almost.

3k on HKS GT-RS turbo kit (sneaky sneaky :P)

~1k on new front pipe, stock inlet manifold, 380cc sidefeed injectors, throttle body, injector loom, intercooler pipes and exhaust manifold

~2k on labour to remove everything and refit everything

Engine bay was like this:

:)

i got told same thing "need permits for everything" so i used alot of stock parts and made it 'look' stock but 1 guy said no matter what, u still have to go to the engineers even if u bring it back 100% to stock.. so i took it to a different pits n it got thru straight away.

really depends who u get.

fkn hate the pits

Most of your permits you can get at the pits.

You only need an engineer for anything that drastically changes the car, eg: power-to-weight ratio (engine swap, massive turbo(s)).

Shit like pod filters, intercooler, front facing plenum the pits should be able to give you (unless you hack up your reo bar for the intercooler).

Easier to just get permits and keep your stuff fitted and not worry about getting yellows later on.

No point in getting all your gear off for the pits when you and they both know it'll go straight back on, thye'll just look a little harder for something to pick you for.

Like raising your Skyline to legal height, and wondering why you don't pass, in this case:

That's just silly.... :)
