I assume by "it wont unlock either" you mean that it is locked right now...

that would be why it doesn't open, so the question is why is the door stuck locked?

Have you tried both using a key and the latch on the inside of the door?

either way, you may have to attempt to take off the door trim and have a look at the locking mechanism, something may be caught in there or it may have rusted/ jammed for some other reason.

but i would say have a look and go from there.

(edit for spelling)

sure is locked now have tried key and inside latch but no go.

but using the key and the latch it will only unlock the the latch (part you can see on the door trim) halfway.

any help on how to get the interior door trim off with breaking it with the door closed ??

also has anyone else had this happen to them ? how did you fix it ?

i dont think u can take off the trim while the door is closed? coz the three screws to remove the door trim are between the bottom of the interior and the door. but not 100% sure...

i also had this problem with mine but i put a little force and shook the key while turnin and it opened. but i dont think its the same prob as urs

Yeah i know about the three little screws down the bottom.

Any more help would be great.

Havent done much execpt pry the door trim away at the top enough to see in.

It doesnt seem to unlock properly by the looks of it so what do i do ?

how bout you remove the thing that surrounds the door opener inside? once its out you might have a little small space too put ur finger and do something lol

you just have to remove a screw i think in the middle and then unclip the surround carefully

were you able to get the door trim off at all?

was thinking that you may be able to do it if you take out the front seat. would be a lot of effort, but i think it's coming to the point of trying all options. taking the seat out should let you get to the screws at the bottom, and you mentioned before that you were able to get the top part unhooked. just don't forget the couple of screws through the centre of the door in the arm rest thing.

worst case, you may need to damage your door trim to get it off.. but a door trim costs less than a door if it comes to it.

This happened to mine not 3 days ago. Although I could open my door so no probs.

Start by pulling out the door handle/lock surround on the inside. No screws, just a few little clips. This will allow you to grab the steel rod with a pair of pliers/vice grips and will give you more pulling power without the risk of breaking the plastic lock switch or door handle.

Mine was simply a small piece of plastic jammed into place preventing the mechanism from opening. Don't know where it came from but I removed it and all was well so f@#k it.

Anyways try to unlock and open the door this way first. If it is just something jammed in place, the extra force may budge it just enough, as the plastic handles will not allow as much force to be applied.

FORCE: Sometimes it's the only way. Other times it just seems like a good idea at the time, and can be fun when frustrated.

I'M trying to think without going and looking but cant you wind the window down and use a coat hanger or something to get at the lock mecanism?

Or If the inside lock tab thingy is only opening halfway then something is obviously blocking it, i would try to open and close the inside lock tab fast and slow and hit the door firmly but not to hard to see if it unlocks.

Worth a try.

    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
