The boost isn't a problem if the engine is tuned to handle it. You need the right fuel delivery and timing adjustment to stop the engine destroying itself. This must be set up be a professional. I know of 3 guys who have smoked their engines just playing with the boost alone.

thats on the to do list, get it tuned on the dyno so I am saying that it may have been chipped already but will have to see. I was just worried about pushing the turbo too hard and figured to keep it under 1.1 bar.

but the question really is what kinda boost can I run with the ecu tuned properly.

Cheers Ben

it's a HKS ball bearing turbo. It will probably do 1.7bar easily. HKS turbos are known for having high efficiency ranges, so when it's at 1.5 bar say it works the best. But on a bigger engine you might be trying to put too much exhaust gas through the exhaust housing in the higher revs so the power will drop off.

Give it a go on the dyno... just tune it to what power you want if you have all the support systems to go with it!

When i say whatever power you want i mean that the turbo will allow, a 2510 won't net you 500hp no matter how much boost you screw through it!!!!

Yeah thats good as I can get some more jucie out of it. But as you said I think the key is in the duno and see how things go there. anyone got any suggestions as to where a good place to go is. Silverwater A S, I know are good but maybe a other places would be good just to get some ideas.

Thanks everyone for their input.
