to keep it short and sweet, the past few days i have noticed an unusual smell coming from under the hood the past few days. i couldnt put my finger on it but it smelled like burning wood. checked under there and didnt see anything unusual so thought it might be my imagination. time goes on and the smell is still there, finally got around to looking under the hood again today to find leaves, seeds and lots of rat shit all underneath my the plastic cover over the engine, all over my pod and near the battery tray!

after an hour or so of cleaning it was all gone, but after speaking with my mate who had it happen to him once, he said not to be suprised if a dead mummified rat or something slumps out from somewhere at some point.

next stop, engine detailers

Sth Gippy Hwy.

that group of shops Fruit market/ wheels shop/ Cafe. . .

at the Cafe they do car detailing also, last i spoke to them (1yr ago) they said they would get Engine detailing in also. so i would assume they have it by now.

on my N15 SSS i have found compost when i open the front door, down near the foot well. in the guard. its amazing where shit ends up haha

I impaled a magpie on my front bar and some of him (whatever I couldn't scrape off) ended up being cooked on my radiator on the drive between sydney and melbourne.

For some reason I was craving KFC the whole trip.

rat nest in my mates valley between the cam covers . ate right throught the coil harness and started on the coils and plugs

Had this happen to me twice, put lots of rat blocks in your garage, make sure your pets don't eat it,all the best.

In my old car the weirdest shit would happen, I would always have orange peel and bits of vegetables in this little area above the gearbox. I clean all of it out, it comes back again in a few days!

Turns out it must have been mice taking scraps from the compost bin and setting up a nest in my engine bay! Luckily they didn't cause any damage.

You will also sacrifice low down and you will be adding extra volume if you port match it, more so if you port the plenum runners depending and how its done I think the only time youre going to see about 100hp gains is if the car is making well over 1k kw I do have a spare set that I was going to test with, but i dont actually think there is anything worth getting going larger. I did a fair few S14/S15 and the standard TB is fairly small, I went to 60 and in some cases 64mm which is significant over the stock unit. You can also get some weird ratio changes. I think 20kw will be a stretch on a roller dyno. If I had it apart I might mill the shafts a little and not expect much, I think the stock size is still pretty good for a street/track car even with larger capacity. I might change diameter it if its a drag only car

    • As long as the bucket stays against the cam then it will measure up fine, the valve will close compared to a running engine but the bucket will stay against the cam lobe
    • I feel like i would be like most people who get these, excited for the first 3-6 months and then just totally forget about it. The end products do look sick tho. Ive got a 1/12 scale r32 model, dunno where im gonna actually display it once its all done!
