Hey Guys,

My car has been off the road for a while now while I have been fitting new exhaust etc etc

I fired it up last night and I have white smoke coming out of the exhaust and milky crap under my oil cap.

It isnt coming out straight away but away a tiny bit it starts. It isnt all of the time either, some times it will die down to next to nothing (this is all at idle).

There is no milk in the sump.

Checked the dipstick - no milk.

There is no milkshake in my radiator, only coolant and water.

I have checked the lowest part of my cooler piping, there is no oil (thought it might be the turbo seal).

I have my PCV blocked with my covers vented to a catch can.

My mods list is as follows:

RB25/30

Type A poncams

Wiseco Pistons

Stock Rods

JPC Stainless manifold

PSR 45mm Wastegate

GT35R 0.82

3.5" Turbo back exhaust

Front facing plenum from dahtone racing

Front Mount

Vipec V44 plug in

Techedge 2j1 WO2

Bosch 044 with 3L surge tank

Nismo 740cc Inj

Splitfire Coil Packs

Am using the shittest oil known to man for now, didnt want to put the better oil in until I have sorted the overfueling. 20w - 50 oil.

I have some fully synthetic 10w - 40 oil to go in.

Please help

This happened to my last car after a MAJOR thrashing followed by a long time sitting.

Nothing was blown but there was a significant amount of condensation trapped in the motor. I suggest a very good and thorough service before anything else.

Mine was fine after I serviced it and ran it at opp temp and driven for a while.

Yep, coz you've sat it for some time, the engine has had some condensation in it, and where does it condense?? the rocker cover so you'll see it in the cap, drive it for a decent run and it should be gone the next time.

Yeh that is what I am thinking. I pulled the catch can off, and have a small amount of hot water right could just near the 90 degree bend but none in the catch can.

I just checked the oil cap again, there was hardly anything milky compared to last time, I was quite impressed.

I have taken all of the catch can lines and everything off and think I will see how it goes with them off, will help get rid of it a little quicker I guess.

What do call a "good service"?

The car was not trashed in the slightest before it started to sit, it was babied and then just sat.

Did a compression test. Results were between 120 and 130 for all of the cylinders, so no drastic drops. I am not sure how accurate the gauge is, but surely it cant be out 60 psi :wub:

Yeah its just condensation. Drop the oil and change the filter and take for a good run . Some cars during winter that dont get a long enough run can do this as the oil doesnt get hot enough to burn the water/condensation out of the oil.

The car was run for over two hours today and there is not a sign of milk under the cap any more :P

Nice new fresh oil and some time without the catch can lines on and there is no milk at all :)

Similar thing happened to me while my car was off the road for a month.. Except the oil turned milky/caramel. Turns out it was condensation/rust in the motor. I bought 2 sets of oil/filters and changed them after around 5 min of idling, then put some Elf racing oil and its been sweet ever since.

Do a compression/leakdown test to be sure if you like tho.

you should see the inside of a motor that has only done short in town driving......it is full of condensation and sludge in all the corners and nooks and cranny's. Some of the sludge is like black putty. All vehicles need a good long drive for a few hours every few months or so.

Why do you think that semi trailers get big mileage [in millions of km] out of their Mack's/Kenworths etc, because they do haul miles not stop and start stuff
