Can you possibly do write up on swamping internal part, is that hard to do ?..

where do you find V35 wrecks ... not that easy to come by in Australia surely

i just need stand by key, just in case my only one fails

Its very easy to do.

Just take out the small screw and pop the key open.

Once inside the bottons just come out as a complete unit.

There is also the small transponder chip at the base of the unit where the key is joined to the plastic casing.

It also comes out very easy.

Make sure when changing the transponder chip over you put it in the new key the same way it was in the old key .(it also is staight forward.

Hope this helps

Have a go and see how you go ,if you have any trouble just shot me a pm

And post on things like "find a part" , there are a few wrecks out there .

key blanks with remote are $280-$300 each from me. you will need your immobiliser codes to program them. no code = dont bother.

how many do I buy?

As far as the codes go are they the numbers to do with the cars BCM? TomR33 gave me my pin number after i pulled off the kick panel near the ECU and gave him some numbers

or where else do i find them or get them?

fine with me. I called nissan on that and its $350-$375 new. understand that these are not cheap but you did buy a $80k car and parts are not going to be cheap for it.

When I got my V35 it only had one key ,so off to Nissan I went only to find out I had to swap my kidney just to get one.

Anyway to my solution.

I got 2 used keys from a wreck of a V35 both have the 3 bottons

$80 with post

This may seem dear for 2 used keys but in the grand scheme of things it's not to bad.

Then I went on ebay UK and got 2 new uncut blanks for the X-Trail.

Costing with post to my door $45

They are exactly the same as the V35 keys .

I gutted the 2 used V35 key and put the inturnals in the 2 new X-Trail blanks.

Key cutting for the 2 new keys $14

Coding at Nissan for the 2 keys $45

So all up for 2 new coded keys

$184 :P

I made this a new post as I thought most might want to see the much cheaper

alternative for new keys

do u mean like ebay.co.uk ? if so why ebay UK ? and not just ebay.com

sorry if that is a stupid question :D

Yeah Ebay.co.uk.

And why, well they were the only ones I could find at the time on ebay world wide

and really $45 including post is cheap.

So after seeing what price chris can do the keys for , I still say 2 keys at just over half the price of 1

wins hands down :P:) and im always very happy when ever I can save a little cash

and hope this might save others some aswell

So are we talking 280-300 for a key or 350 to 375 now?

going over 300 is going to put me off considering ill still need to pay to have the key cut and programmed? or was that the price with everything done?

Im on the coast but a trip to bris is not that hard to make + I would also want to get my FM radio working so over AM....

Do you need the cars body number? im guessing the keys going to come over blank? just rock up to nissan or a locksmith to get it cut?

chassis number would help but the part number I put up is correct for 90% of the cars.as for getting nissan involved- not really needed UNLESS you need the key codes. (send me a PM.) radio is easy to knock over its time and parts for me.

  • 3 months later...

For those who live in QLD i have a friend that can copy any key.

Just got two keys cut and programmed for my V35. $185e or cheaper if more than 1 or group of people get together and he will come and do them all.

They are non nissan keys btw.

Dont need BCM code, just a current key and the car. If you are after details please PM me.

Cheers

    • And if you want more power, more reliably, and cheaper, go get the Aussie RB... The 4L Barra and put that in instead.
    • No cats will keep discolouring the rear bar. Sends white paint a weird yellow stain. Cut and polish normally gets it out, but you'll be doing that every fortnight I found.
    • Both heads will be equally reliable or unreliable depending on what you do to them.  Stock the RB26 head will flow more. You have access to the stock intake ITB manifold on the RB26 cheaply which flows really well(1000hp+).   Arguably more aftermarket support for RB26, though in Aus we love our RB30 SOHC heads too.    The only downsides to the RB26 head is if you have a VL commodore and want to keep the SOHC look.  Where you may have an issue is drilling out the rb30 block for the bigger head studs but if you are building a big power motor you'd probably put bigger studs on the SOHC head too.  This is just about finding a good machine shop, sometimes easier said than done.  RB30 head worked can make big power just like a Rb26 head, so really it actually more comes down to what your preference is for your car.  People now even making billet versions of both.
    • 2630s work perfectly well. There is something to be said for just using the 30 head, as it saves all the pain of the conversion, still makes tons of power, still sounds cool, etc etc. 2630 will obviously make more power again, but the differences are not stupidly big. It really depends on whether you're racing for sheep stations or not. If it's dead serious, then it's a 26 head. If it's just for fun, it could go either way. But the 26 head and the effort to get it set up, etc etc, is part of the fun.
    • I've been building a 26/30 for a few years now. I've had the head built with all the good stuff. I had a 32 gtr but blew it up and yes its all going into a vl but im looking for some advice from some RB nuts on pros and cons on putting a 26 head on a 30 bottom end is it worth it Works are as follows Head -Extensive porting 1mm oversized supertech valves Supertech double springs Supertech valve guides Supertech titanium retainers Tomei solid lifters Tomei 270 x 10.25 cams Head drain Bottom end series 2 rb30 block Cp ceramic coated pistons Eagle rods Romac balancer Oil restrictions  O ringed blah blah spent a fortune And will get a girdle because the 30s arent used to handling that much rpm Nitto billet oil pump Hypertune plenum 6boost mani Refurbed astra pump thats the cover for it in the boot I did have a precision 6262 but sold it because drag car life. Currently building the ass end full 4 link floater rear end with a 2 speed  But the dilemma i have is my mate rekens I should just stick with the 30 head for reliability. Has any one had any issues with mounting the 26 head ie compression blowing gaskets etc. Just looking for some advice from people who have gone down this route. Here's some photos. Blew the oil pump in the gtr and decided to rip the motor out at the time and do a full build only to find it had been a repairable write off so went down this path.
